[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmgpuscHjDE] This movie looks sort of funny and I think it just might have the right amount of wit, independent charm and dumb humor to work. Although in my viewing experience, films with “redband” trailers just don’t turn out to be very good. It seems like a studio only puts out a ”redband” trailer when they’re not sure the movie is going to succeed, and they can’t promote it well enough with just an “All Audiences” trailer. The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard is directed by Neal Brennan, who is making his directorial debut. His notoriety includes some episodes of “Chappelle’s Show” and the TV movie Totally Awesome previously. This film’s…

G-S-T Review…Angels & Demons
For the past few months I written about Angels & Demons, but the content of my posts were intended to be more about my expectations rather than say casting news or production development. Before stepping into the theater, I really wanted this film to work in two ways. The first was my hope that this would be a more compelling film adaptation than the DaVinci Code. The second was if there would be a little more emotion to Tom Hanks’ “Langdon” (who was criticized last time for being lifeless and miscast). But, having read both books, I found this the more complex and action packed story of the two, so stepping into…

V the Miniseries – The Remake
As a kid V was the first time I remember being intrigued and scared of alien creatures. V was HUGE in the 80’s and anyone who was alive in that decade should remember it. It was ground breaking, original, and most of all kind of fun…also it featured a much more clothed Marc Singer than his Beastmaster attire. Anyway, For those of you in the know or anyone out there who cares about the remake here is the trailer for your enjoyment: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahjPQjQGdbU] In the past months, there had been rumblings about the remake of the movie event as a series. While I kind of cringed, I secretly wanted to…

Finally…the 'Sherlock Holmes' Trailer
Well it looks as if the wait is over (for the trailer anyway)…we’ve finally been given a taste of Guy Ritchie’s take on Sherlock Holmes. I’ve written before about how big of a Guy Ritchie fan I am and how was excited about this film’s existence and development. Throw in uber-talent like Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Strong and I think we’ve got one great story in store for us. So if you’ve not seen this in the past 2 days, sit back, relax and get ready for a Sherlock Holmes story that “ain’t your grandpa’s Sherlock Holmes”. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4K3aM5H5KM] I’m very eager to see this but like all great things…

Val Kilmer’s Latest: The Irishman
The man who channeled ‘Jim Morrison’, Val Kilmer himself, has joined the cast of the mob drama The Irishman. He will fit right in alongside of Christopher Walken and Ray Stevenson who round out this heavily talented casting trio. Filmmaker Jonathan Hensleigh, who previously directed 2004’s The Punisher, will be directing this. Hensleigh also wrote the script, which is based on the life of mobster Danny Greene (Stevenson), who ran Cleveland’s criminal underworld during the late 1970s. Shooting will take place in Detroit and should have just about started. There a few actors that I’ll absolutely see anything with their names attached, regardless of the film’s outcome. I’ve written before…

The biggest movie on my radar is Sly Stallone’s The Expendables…I’ve written a post nearly every time there’s news, and every time I get more anxious to see this film. And what a way to end the week…with what’s being called official poster art for the movie!! There are times when there are no words to describe how cool something like this is. This is one of them…so no words, just enjoy!! Again and still, I am soooo stoked to see this film. Happy Friday Everyone!!!

Frank Sinatra…The Man, The Music and now, The Movie
There was amazing news today that there will be a biopic about the life of the one, the only, Frank Sinatra!! Wow…this makes me more excited than the news about any other movie this year, that’s for sure. The following information on this project comes from the post on First Showing: After years of negotiations with Frank Sinatra Enterprises, Universal will finally be moving forward on the biopic Sinatra. The screenplay was written by Field of Dreams screenwriter Phil Alden Robinson, and as announced today, the prolific Martin Scorsese will direct. The film is already being compared to Todd Haynes’ 2007 Bob Dylan biopic I’m Not There., at least in…

Who (Or What) Contributes The Most To A Film??
This is a topic I have been thinking about for the past few years. As a fan of (mostly) American cinema, I have seen, what I consider, poor acting, good acting, and great acting. One example for each of those categories would be Mark Wahlberg, Daniel Craig, and Russell Crowe. Now, I realize my examples above are actors for one genre, being ‘action films’, but it should give you what I think are “poster boys” spanning the range of actors in cinema now-a-days. Usually, in film today, it’s tough to get an original story out of Hollywood, a character that requires an actor to “stretch” to pull off the role,…

New Family Guy Movie?
Got your attention?…Well, I’m interested too and a recent post from First Showing has the following: Series creator Seth MacFarlane talked with Wired earlier this week at a special event celebrating the 100th episode of American Dad, and it sounds like things are actually coming together on a Family Guy movie. “We want to do it,” MacFarlane told them. “Fox wants it. We know what we want to do with it. It’s just a question of finding the time.” His busy schedule includes new episodes of Family Guy, American Dad, and their newest spin-off show, The Cleveland Show. As he explains, “there’s so much to do for a weekly animated…

Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings – June 9th
OK, sorry to get anyone’s hopes up but this latest Indiana Jones adventure will not be coming to a theater near you, Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings will be a video game for the Wii, PS2 and PSP. But don’t lose hope, I think this should make everyone very happy. Even though this isn’t totally movie related, the fact that it’s a game based on a movie (the character anyway), and since we all love Indy, I had to post it. I’ve said before that Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was terrible and just “too little, too late”, so even though this isn’t a big screen attempt to…
