Well summer is almost here and with Texas being humid as usual, here’s a little visual relief from the heat…

Whiteout is WB’s newest thriller starring Kate Beckinsale (oh, what a hottie). From First Showing.com we get the following:
Carrie Stetko (Kate Beckinsale) is a lone U.S. Marshal assigned to Antarctica whose investigation of the continent’s first murder draws her into a shocking mystery. Now, with only three days until winter, Carrie must solve the crime before Antarctica is plunged into darkness and she is stranded with the killer.
Whiteout is directed by ex-music video director Dominic Sena, of Gone in Sixty Seconds and Swordfish previously. The screenplay was written by brothers Jon and Erich Hoeber as well as brothers Carey and Chad Hayes (House of Wax, The Reaping). This is an adaptation of Greg Rucka and Steve Lieber’s graphic novel of the same name. Warner Brothers will finally release Whiteout in theaters on September 11th.
Of course this is going to conjure up images of The Thing (which is an awesome movie), and probably (if you had the misfortune to have seen it) Eye See You aka ‘D-Tox’. Now, I’m not a big fan of slasher thrillers, but if I had to pick , my choice would be anything resembling an icy climate….so this looks like my cup of tea. That said, I’m looking forward to seeing this (mainly because of Kate – who, like Rhona Mitra in Doomsday, made Underworld more enjoyable) but not getting my hopes up. What do the rest of you think?
