The 2010 Dallas International Film Festival starts TODAY!!

Calling all you Texas area movie lovers!! Have I got something for you. Dallas’ 5th annual International Film Festival starts today and will run from the 8th to the 18th. I am happy to be volunteering to help out in the festivities (and as a perk volunteers get free movie passes). Screenings will take place at Studio Movie Grill, The Angelika Film Center, Landmark’s Magnolia Theater and the Dallas Museum of Art Horchow Auditorium. Those of you film fans who are quasi-local, it’s a great opportunity to see some high-profile, up-and-coming films. Also you’ll be able to meet with fellow cinephiles and have an awesome time.

Though not as large and high-profile as the neighboring SXSW, Dallas still has one hell of a line up as well as panels, and the “coupe de grace”, an evening with Oscar-winning director Pete Docter who won this year for PIXAR’s Up.

Click this link to find out more and help yourself to a movie or two to help out the festival. I’ve been keeping my eye on a few films that look great as well as some that were very popular at Southby. Here’s just some of the ones I really want to see:

So the next 11 days are going to be a lot of fun. If you can make it, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Also, I’m volunteering a number of days to the event in addition to seeing some films, so if you see me, don’t be afraid to say hi. And if you want to tell me how much you love Go,See,Talk!, that’d be nice tooπŸ™‚
