First Official Look At The Wolfpack in 'The Hangover Part III'

The second at bat for Todd Phillips and his fictional band of brothers was not a favorable one. The Hangover II was just a lifeless rehash of Phillips’s unexpected but meteorically successful first Hangover film. Fans and critics alike were amazed (not to mention disappointed) how following the formula to a T could have resulted in such a boring second outing. Well now The Wolfpack is back and the boys are gearing up for their next and supposedly final trip.

So did Phillips and company learn from their mistake? We hope so. As of right now, The Hangover Part III is (mostly) planning on going back to where it all started – Fabulous Las Vegas. Not sure how that’s an improvement over the last attempt but hey, at least Vegas has slightly tamer than some of the “bars” The Wolfpack, shall we say, endured while in Bangkok?

Entertainment Weekly has two official photos to get fans excited; one of the boys and one of that Asian fire crakcer Mr. Chow…

So in an attempt to break free of the formula found in the last two installments, Phillips will be trying something new. In an interview with EW, Phillips gave this small tidbit as to the idea behind this third installment:

The Hangover Part III is Alan’s story. He’s going through a crisis after the death of his father, [and] the Wolfpack is all he has.”

Aside from the Pack coming back, this final installment will give us John Goodman, and see the return of Mike Tyson and even Heather Graham. Director Todd Phillips will bring The Hangover Part III to theaters next Spring on May 24th, 2013. Anyone ready to follow the Wolfpack through one more binge for their last hurrah??

Is that an Abbey Road reference? Really? Man, as if I had no desire to see the movie beforehand…

Well as long as they as not doing the same exact thing I’ll give it a shot. That was the in-joke of the 2nd movie but it soooo didn’t work.

Will they actually let Justin Bartha be part of the adventure this time? I thought the first was hilarious (until I watched it a couple more times and the novelty wore off) and had to turn the second one off a half hour in. If this goes in a completely different direction I might be interested depending on the trailer.

I’d like it quite a bit if Bartha got to have some fun for a change. Kinda looks like it from the pic. Sure he’s not as funny or zany as the other three but he’s due for more screen time. Plus he was great in National Treasure:)
