Ohhh, Look…Superb Viral Trailer 'Looper the Movie the 8-Bit Game'

With September right around the corner, fans excited for Rian Johnson’s awesome looking sci-fi thriller Looper don’t have to wait too much longer (it hits theaters on Sept 28th btw). But to hold you over until next month comes this clever viral 8-bit video for Looper the Movie the 8-Bit Game. More than just a series of pics from the trailer digitized in classic 8-bit visuals (well 16-bit would be a little more accurate), this inspired creation really calls back to the classic days of the NES (or SNES) replete with music and all. So don’t let me ruin the throwback fun to be had…enjoy this neat video if you haven’t seen it yet.

Man, there’s just something incredibly nostalgic about the 8-bit track isn’t there? While this might seem like a labor of love in anticipation of one of this Fall’s most anticipated releases, quite the opposite really because in the words of the artist Deepak Chetty, he “made this while waiting for other renders to go through. Definitely my most anticipated movie of the fall/winter. Hopefully this is a start of a series of cinema games that never existed.” Guess it wasn’t that hard after all.

Rian Johnson’s third feature Looper, which is headlined by Joesph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, Noah Segan, Piper Perabo, and Jeff Daniels, is slated for wide release this Fall on September 28th, 2012It is also expected to screen at TIFF and Fantastic Fest (hey, we’ll be there!). You can check out the official trailer here but let me ask you…what’s you think of Deepak‘s video? You excited for Looper yet?? Anyone going to dust off and fire up the old SNES after seeing this video??
