Ohhh, Look…Teaser Poster For Joseph Kosinski's 'Oblivion'

Earlier this week we shared some, what we thought at the time were, concept artwork for Joseph Kosinski’s sci-fi thriller Oblivion. Well as we soon found out, it was actually unreleased images from the Oblivion graphic novel that was cancelled. Still it was something to gravitate toward since we are about 4 months away from the film’s release and, to date, had seen exactly zip.

Well that all changed today as the first official teaser poster has recently been released. It’s grand and very Prometheus inspired but still a little dull. Have a look for yourselves…

Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth.  Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jack’s mission is nearly complete.

Living in and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft.  Her arrival triggers a chain of events that  forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.”

Director Joseph Kosinski is again joined by some this TRON: Legacy creative team including cinematographer Claudio Miranda (Life of Pi), production designer Darren Gilford and supervising art director Kevin Ishioka (Transformers: Dark of the Moon). Basically, I don’t think we have to worry about Oblivion lacking in the visuals department.

Oblivion is directed by Joseph Kosinski (TRON: Legacy) and stars Tom Cruise, Olga Kurylenko, Andrea Riseborough, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Melissa Leo. This post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller will be released next Spring on wide on April 19, 2013 and exclusively on IMAX on April 12th. Whatcha think so far.?
