Sweet 2nd Trailer…Joseph Kosinski's 'Oblivion'

One of the biggest films slated to hit theaters this year, and one of G-S-T most anticipated films of 2013, is Joseph Kosinski’s Oblivion. Starring Tom Cruise, this post-apocalyptic big-budget behemoth will be Kosinski’s second film to date. However after wowing us with TRON: Legacy (in visuals, story not so much) we can’t wait to see the world he and his creative team have dreamed up. The second trailer for Oblivion hit the web and it is even more engaging and impressive than the first. Crank up your speakers, click this to full screen mode and enjoy!

A trailer for a film like this, and sci-fi films in general, may look good on computer but a screen like the size you’re reading this on just doesn’t do it justice. I guess that’s why Oblivion is going to play on IMAX to fully immerse us in this world…more on that later. But if you can’t wait until April, here are some hi-rez photos for you to drool over (click any image to see it full size).

Oblivion is directed by Joseph Kosinski from a script that was rewritten by Michael Arndt (Toy Story 3, the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII). It also features music from M83 (squee!) and stars an impressive cast including Morgan Freeman, Andrea Riseborough, Olga Kurylenko, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Melissa Leo.

Universal will release Oblivion exclusively in IMAX theaters this Spring on April 12th, 2013 and then expand to wide release on April 19th. Between this, After Earth, Pacific Rim, Elysium and others, there’s lots of great looking and original sci-fi blowing up screens this year. What are you most looking forward to seeing?
