The Super Bowl TV spot gave us a really good look at Joss Whedon’s Avengers adaptation and now we have a much grander glimpse at this epic action film. Have to say it’s looking better and better and May 4th is just about 2 months away. Avengers Assemble!!

The Avengers is set to slam into theaters nationwide this Spring on May 4th 2012. What do you think? Anyone excited? Better yet, anyone not excited??

I’ve got high hopes for this one because of Whedon. I’m unfortunately one of those crying Browncoats who can never get over “Firefly” failing as a franchise. I’m hoping the success of Avengers (which seems like it will be a smashing one) will give him more opportunities for feature films. He has a great knack for ensemble work that I really enjoy.

Okay, that’s an exciting trailer. But after that disastrous poster (which is objectively awful) and some mediocre spots and trailers, I have to wonder why it’s taken this long for something well-cut and captivating to be released.
Regardless, this bit makes me more enthused about seeing it when it comes out.
