Sweet Trailer…'A Good Day To Die Hard'

There is no such thing as having too many Bruce Willis action movies. Admit it, the world is better place because of it. In the next installment of the long running Die Hard series, we again find John McClane running and gunning but doing it all with a trademark wink, a smile and an iconic catch phrase. Last time we looked in on the McClanes we saw Mary Elizabeth Winstead introduced as the grown up Lucy McClane. Now this film, the fifth, puts the focus on his son Jack (played by Jai Courtney) and as you expect, explosions ensue. Enjoy the first theatrical trailer for A Good Day To Die Hard!

Live Free of Die Hard showed us McClane as an almost super soldier which seemed like a disconnect to the series (the implausible action might have been ramped up to get more out of the PG-13 rating) but this already looks more grounded. Well, fingers crossed and here’s hoping we see Bruce as a tough cop and not Robocop…really, how could anyone live through some of those scenes in Die Hard 4? Here’s the official synopsis:

John McClane finds himself on foreign soil after traveling to Moscow to help his wayward son Jack–unaware that Jack is really a highly-trained CIA operative out to stop a nuclear weapons heist. With the Russian underworld in pursuit, and battling a countdown to war, the two McClanes discover that their opposing methods make them unstoppable heroes.

Anyway 20th Century Fox has slated A Good Day To Die Hard for wide release next year on February 14th, 2013. While I would have preferred Aaron Paul to play Jack, I’m still on board for this. How about you??

Still nonplussed over this one. I’m not sure how many more Die Hard sequels we need, especially since Bruno does so well when he’s given something non-franchise related to sink his teeth into.

I’m excited about it too Marc. Die Hard is one of my favorite action film franchises.
