Eddie the Eagle Banner20th Century Fox has released the first trailer for the Dexter Fletcher directed film Eddie the Eagleand it looks awesome! Then again it’s from producer Matthew Vaughn and company, so anything with the “MARV” brand is a sure sign of quality. The film, about unlikely but courageous British ski-jumper Michael “Eddie” Edwards (Taron Egerton), sets to show how a never say die attitude inspired his country and the world. The film also perfectly nails the look of the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics, and we can’t wait to see more. Enjoy the trailer and let us know what you think!

Inspired by true events, Eddie the Eagle is a feel-good story about Michael “Eddie” Edwards (Taron Egerton), an unlikely but courageous British ski-jumper who never stopped believing in himself – even as an entire nation was counting him out. With the help of a rebellious and charismatic coach (played by Hugh Jackman), Eddie takes on the establishment and wins the hearts of sports fans around the world by making an improbable and historic showing at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics.
