This adaptation of Lee Child’s novel One Shot has a pretty stellar cast including Robert Duvall, Richard Jenkins, Rosamund Pike (and Warner Herzog as the baddie de jour) just to name a few. It also features the long awaited return of Christopher McQuarrie (writer The Usual Suspects, director The Way of the Gun) serving as both writer and director. Paramount Pictures has slated Jack Reacher for theatrical release this Winter on December 21st, 2012. Another year, another Cruise movie just in time for Christmas. Whatcha think??

The final beat in the trailer had me in stitches. Outstanding.
On the other hand, the inserted “the law has limits” tag has such an obvious follow-up that I cringed a bit at being right. But then there’s also the phone call bit. I don’t know. I’m conflicted. There’s potential for greatness here, but also for hackishness.
