Sweet Trailer…’The Expendables 3′

The Expendables 3 BannerFool me once“, as the say, “shame on you“. Fool me twice, shame on me. But how will we the audience fare on our third time down the action-heavy rabbit hole? Guess we’ll find out this August. Considering how well Captain America: The Winter Soldier did this April we find that studios are continually kicking off the Summer movie season earlier and earlier. But really, that was more of an appetizer as the coming months hold all true tent-pole films – those big budget blockbuster hopefuls looking to hit their critical and financial marks.

So enter Sly and company’s third at bat in his ’80s styled shoot ’em up revival series (read: action porn that effectively delivers the “mangasam” which adrenaline junkies deem to be be the stuff of legend). New to this most bombastic outing yet, an action-packed hat trick if you will, is the unparalleled all-star cast which includes Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Kelsey Grammer, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, and Kellan Lutz. Despite being burned twice (well, just once – the first Expendables had its moments but 2 was a real bore) we are and forever shall be die-hard fans of Stallone. Further, we are endlessly hopeful that each of his adventures will be a successful one. So, let’s just get to the good stuff in this trailer for The Expendables 3…we really hope it’s good, or, at the very least entertaining. Enjoy!!

Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team come face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables — but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.

Patrick Hughes directs this unbelievably action heavy cast that features Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Jet Li and Randy Couture as well as the one and only Sylvester Stallone. Expect The Expendables 3 to rocket (as in RPG) into theaters everywhere this Summer on August 15, 2014. Did we use the word action enough in this post?
