    G-S-T Review…The Croods

It’s not odd or unusual that to find timeless advice which benefits our future we should look to the past. However it is odd that we should find sage-like advice and a timeless tale about family values in an animated film about cave men. Yet here we are getting a “Father Knows Best”, rather thinks he knows best life-lesson in the form of this charmingly witty and heart-warming tale from DreamWorks Animation. The plot of The Croods is standard familial fare; a young girl Eep (Emma Stone) yearns for the freedom beyond the confines of her house (in this story, a cave) and the conservative restraints put upon her by her over-protective father Grug (Nic Cage).…

    Sweet Trailer…'DreamWorks Animation's 'Turbo'

Today we get the first (well second if you count the teaser) trailer for DreamWorks Animation’s Turbo, a fun looking film about a racing snail. Sorry all you fans of The Neverending Story, this has nothing to do with that speedy snail but this is the story of Turbo, a snail who has always dreamed about being fast. Following a freak accident Turbo has been transformed from an everyday garden snail into a racing machine and he’s one step closer to achieving his biggest dream: winning the Indy 500. Honestly this looks to have that patented DreamWorks charm all over it. With a little luck the studio may have two hits…

Ohhh, Look…Gorgeous Concept Artwork for DreamWorks' 'The Croods'

If there’s one element that can make or break a film, outside of its overall quality, it has got to be the trailer. A trailer (read: most times created by a company not associated with the studio producing it) can make the very worst film look like a billion dollars and conversely undersell something that is genuinely a good product. Case in point. The marketing for DreamWorks’ upcoming film The Croods hasn’t been, shall we say, doing the film any favors. To be fair this is a tough one to market. It’s not John Carter hard but still, if you asked anyone on the street if they wanted to see…

    G-S-T Review…Rise of the Guardians

Thinking about Rise of the Guardians, Dreamworks’ latest offering, I can’t say for sure whether Pete Ramsey mixed a heart-warming, energetic childrens’ film with a story of secular subversion or vice versa. Most likely, it’s the former; there’s little doubting that Rise of the Guardians exists first and foremost to entertain and dazzle theaters full of tykes and adults alike with impressive panache. In that respect, the film succeeds in overwhelming fashion, boasting a bright, colorful visual palette and a much-improved style of animation while giving its world life through excellent voice casting. (If, of course, your concept of Santa Claus involves Jack Donaghy’s Russian half-brother.) Put simply, there’s no denying that the…

G-S-T Quick 5 – Highly Anticipated Animated Films Left In 2012

2012 has seen some really great animated films so far. While computer graphics have taken up most of the animated market in the last decade, they have also improved in quality and spectacle at an almost geometric rate. This year film fans were treated to the likes of Brave, Madagascar 3 and Ice Age 4 which all did very well and proved to be feathers in the caps of their respective animation studios. But while we were excited about them, and they did well from huge marketing campaigns, they didn’t need much help from the blogging community due to their existing fan base. That said however, here are 5 films that have either slightly smaller budgets…

    G-S-T Review…Puss In Boots

Editor’s Note: Go,See,Talk presents this review of Puss In Boots as part of a series of entries from our guest contributing writer Grady M. DreamWorks has dreamt up yet another hit movie with Puss in Boots. This prequel to Shrek will entertain adults with its witty banter as the children chuckle at the physical comedy. The back story on Puss in Boots is heartwarming and emotionally charged, like the entire Shrek series. DreamWorks has a knack for taking existing nursery rhymes and turning them into something a little bolder, with crude humor wrapped around a barrel of laughs. This prequel to the Shrek series wasn’t just another spin-off to rake in…

Ohhh, Look…Another New 'Kung Fu Panda 2' Character

Last month we posted 6 of the new characters in Dreamworks’ upcoming sequel to Kung Fu Panda. Well today we have one new addition to the line up…one, well I guess you can’t really call henchmen one new character, but you get the idea. Also, we have some much nicer looking shots of the other characters below. Have a look and enjoy… The Gorillas are the muscle in Lord Shen’s army. From the looks of him I wonder if this guy walks down the street singing, “I ain’t happy, I’m feeling glad, I got sunshine in a bag,  I’m useless but not for long. The future is coming on…“. Sorry, I couldn’t…
