    Sweet Trailer…’Cymbeline’

If you’re not into Shakespearean-styled films then this might not be your cup of tea. That said, the cast and this stylized trailer (Mad Max meets Macbeth?) should have naysayers clamoring to get their tickets. Cymbaline (which is based on William Shakespeare’s original text) unfolds as an epic battle between dirty cops and a drug dealing biker gang set in a corruption-riddled contemporary America. Again, check out that cast! Anyway, it looks intense so enjoy the first trailer for Cymbeline… King Cymbeline, leader of the Briton Motorcycle Club, clashes with the corrupt Roman Police while his radiant but disobedient daughter Imogen fends off assaults on her honor and her life. Cymbeline’s wife…

    G-S-T Review…Kick-Ass 2

On the heels of Matthew Vaughn‘s unexpectedly well-received 2010 film (we thought it was OK) comes Jeff Wadlow’s equally zany but lack-lustre sequel. From the get go, Kick-Ass 2 feels like an imitation as opposed to a follow up and the film’s unevenness only calls more attention to the absence of Vaughn. Now that’s not entirely a bad thing as Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz and their band of colorfully righteous bad-asses do keep things breezy and entertaining. But it feels stiff and phoned in as things don’t click like they should or take the story anywhere worthwhile. You can’t blame Wadlow or the crew too much – this is a property called Kick-Ass after all, it’s not Shakespeare. This sequel doesn’t…

Official Synopsis Revealed for 'Kick-Ass 2'

In 2010, Kick-Ass had a pretty favorable cinematic run. Thanks to Matthew Vaughn‘s stylized direction and the likable cast, it successfully blended a Spider-Man level origin story with the boundary pushing content from the comic that inspired it. While I still think the film feels a little flat (despite Cage killing it as Big Daddy and Chloë Moretz giving one hell of a performance) things look more full-bodied as the returning cast and newcomers already make this sound like a home run. For those curious about what’s in store for our off-kilter heroes, read the official synopsis below: Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and Red Mist return for the follow-up to 2010’s irreverent global hit:…

    G-S-T Review…Ice Age: Continental Drift

Over the past couple of decades studios besides Disney have started taking an interest in animated films.  While Disney undoubtedly paved the way for this medium, thankfully other large studios began generating high quality animated entertainment as well.  Pixar forever changed the landscape of animated films and cemented their legacy in the history books.  While other studios may never achieve Disney/Pixar success, they are certainly doing their part to entertain us as well.  With that being said, 20th Century Fox delivers Ice Age: Continental Drift, which is the fourth feature length film in this series.  After a successful string of previous box office hits, some may wonder if this movie…
