Ohhh, Look…Kermit's Coverage From 'Pirates of the Caribbean 4' Premiere

Disney’s got a really cute idea for the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 4’ Premiere. It’s called Kermit-Cam and basically it’s our favorite frog interviewing several stars from the latest Pirates of the Caribbean film. Yeah, that about sums it up…have a look! Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End seemed to fall prey to the “trilogy curse” (not to mention the “too big to fail” mentality) and that was pretty disappointing. Well, with this being the start of an all new (supposed) trilogy, On Stranger Tides looks to return to the magic that made The Curse of the Black Pearl so successful. Here’s hoping Rob Marshall can capture Gore Verbinski’s…

Have a look at this featurette, new poster/character photos and get ready for some fun… Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) finds himself on an unexpected journey to the fabled Fountain of Youth when a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz) forces him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane). G-S-T Review…Rango

After the success of the previous Pirates installments, Gore Verbinski and Johnny Depp bring us another spectacular flick, this time in another equally believed dead genre. Rango is a gruff but gorgeous adventure replete with all the grandeur of the earlier Depp/Verbinski collaborations and delivers the fun we’ve come to expect from the pair. This time though their efforts yeild an epic tale that takes us on a great ride via a different medium. Enticing, creative and off the wall, this very funny tale gives a fresh yet vintage spin on the old and gritty spagetti westerns.

    Sweet Trailers…'Super Bowl XLV Ads'

For those of you who saw the Super Bowl you’ll know there were some pretty dope spots for this year’s . This morning I heard a radio announcer say that “in two weeks, a majority of those who watched it will forget the score, but the commercials will live on“. Good point, however I believe the same can be said for a few of most of those Movie Spots. But whether the movie in question will actually be any good (or live up to this hype) is another thing entirely. So whether you missed the Super Bowl and this is your first time them or if you just want to see…

    Jack Sparrow’s Comic-Con Announcement

There are a handful of sequels (and threequels) I can recall which have had completely unflattering efforts that are nothing short of insulting to some fans. Case in point: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. All that great build-up with 2 awesome films and what did we get? Just an awful, awful mess. As to keep hope alive and whet the die hard fans’ appetites, the end of the film was like a precursor of things to come where they hinted at yet another grand adventure of Captain Jack Sparrow. But after an ending like that, who really cared? That film put me off the series and that’s been my firm…

    Sweet Trailer…'Rango'

I know this came out on Tuesday but reworking G-S-T had me pretty occupied the past few days. Anyway, I think I’ve caught up on the things I’ve missed and this looks much more appealing than that teaser from a few weeks ago. It will certainly keep me laughing til the weekend! If you haven’t seen it, take a look… From our friends at First Showing we get the following information on this amazing and gorgeous looking film: Rango is being directed by filmmaker Gore Verbinski, of The Mexican, The Ring, The Weather Man, and all three Pirates of the Caribbean movies. The script was written by John Logan (Gladiator, The Last Samurai, The Aviator, Sweeney Todd) based on a story…

    G-S-T Review…Public Enemies

It was with high expectations that I set out to see how Michael Mann (of Thief, HEAT and Collateral fame) would tell the tale of ‘Public Enemy’ John Dillinger and his would be captor Melvin Purvis.  Due to the impressive outcomes of his previous efforts, I’ve come to like Mann’s style and was anxious to see this film, but I did have some doubts based solely on the look of the trailer.  My fiance and I walked into the theater expecting to be astounded…and the result was as follows: PREMISE: Great Depression era bank robber John Dillinger is pursued by J. Edgar Hoover and special agent Melvin Purvis (recently celebrated…
