Interview…Kellan Lutz on Action, Emotion, Film & Family

In his latest movie, Kellen Lutz gets to do his version of a Liam Neeson Taken movie. The man who has been a vampire, an expendable, even Hercules has had quite a roster of films and TV work since getting into the business less 20 years ago. And he really deserves credit for his emotional portrayal. He’s underrated and remarkably good at playing a character who is broken down, or has had his whole world taken from him. So much so that it would be good for him to land more roles where his character is in crisis.  In 2016 he played something similar, albeit in an indie sci-fi opera, as…

Interview…Aussie Director Shane Abbess on the Nostalgic and Collaborative Framework Behind ‘The Osiris Child’

It’s been almost one full year since Shane Abbess’ Science Fiction Volume One: The Osiris Child made its world premiere at Fantastic Fest late September 2016. Whether there was something in the air at the fest, or simply the joy of seeing this retro styled sci-fi spectacle on the big screen among hundreds of genre fans, I can’t tell. But I loved Abbess’ film (check out our glowing review here), and when I say that, when the film ended, I was screaming for more, that’s not some witty outro – I was literally screaming for more. And if you love ’80s inspired action epics, and ones that have a great story and…

G-S-T Review…The Osiris Child: Science Fiction Volume One

Editor’s Note: This review has been republished. It originally posted with the rest of our reviews and coverage at Fantastic Fest last September. Seemingly from outer space (Australia, really) comes The Osiris Child: Science Fiction Volume One. This lost ’80s era space opera is a breath of fresh air that comes at a time when one doesn’t see this kind of film too often. Furthermore, it’s not of the post-apocalyptic variety, which also adds a refreshing angle. What starts as a slow build, Shane Abbess‘ stellar and ambitious sci-fi gem quickly picks up speed and never looks back. Abbess’ feature has many strengths, and right out of the gates the visuals simply sing with a slick and refined production design.…

    G-S-T Review…The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2

Brace yourselves Twilight fans, it all comes down to this. No more brooding, no more long awkward affectionate stares or lip-biting. This final installment gives fans the climactic showdown between the Cullens and Volturi they’ve been patiently waiting for (well, kind of). Suffice to say nothing in the series has been more thrilling or satisfying than this. This final installment also finds Bella, with baby in tow, joining the Cullen clan in the way she believed herself born to live, as a full on vampire. There’s less focus on Bella’s former life (sorry fans no Anna Kendrick and co here) as the story moved with long strides to meet, head on, the Volturi…

Sweet Trailer…'A Nightmare on Elm Street'

I haven’t really been to keen to the neo-horror classic reboots (as they have fallen way short in living up to the originals) but something has surfaced today making me reevaluate my previous stance. The second full trailer for the Nightmare on Elm Street remake has surfaced and I am actually quite drawn to it. The reason you ask? Well it’s probably a culmination of three points. 1. I have been an increasingly interested fan of Jackie Earle Haley since he was Rorschach in The Watchmen (a role where he kicked major ass),  2. Twilight alum Kellan Lutz is in this movie (and so I get points with the wife…
