Just like any Aronofsky film, there is inevitable heartache and boy is it rampant. It seems like with each succeeding film, he finds a way to get deeper under our skin and The Wrestler was no exception. I sat down to watch The Wrestler again on BRD last night and every time I see it, I am continually impressed. Darren Aronofsky sure makes some emotional and philosophical films, and while I think some of them (mostly Pi and The Fountain) went over my head, I found this film struck a chord with me. G-S-T Review…Iron Man 2
I saw Iron Man 2 this Saturday and it has taken me a few days to collect my thoughts. The reason for the delay is that I didn’t want the glee of seeing this year’s eagerly awaited big comic book behemoth to keep me from giving a fair assessment. Well all that well-intentioned crap aside, I really enjoyed this sequel. Being that it was a follow-up to an equally successful film, this got the green light to go big, and so it did. Sweet (Fake) Trailer…’The Wrestler’
Hello World, Marc Here: Not a whole lot going on this week. It’s pretty rainy (again) and with nothing absolutely screaming to be posted, I did find this clever little video on /Film that I thought deserved a mention. This takes The Wrestler and attempts to interpret it as trailer for a 70’s era “Grindhouse” flick. Decent attempt if I do say so myself and the vaugery created from select scenes of the film really help play up the (fake) trailer’s intent. That said, have a look. Pretty appropriate as the feeling of the trailer mirrors the dreary weather precipitating outside my office window… They certainly got the narrator’s voice…
