    Sweet Trailer…’X-Men: Apocalypse’

Well here’s a fine way to end the week. What is likely the last comic book trailer we’ll get this year, this 2 minute and 33 second teaser is the equivalent of Bryan Singer dropping the mic on 2015. The X-Men films have gotten better since Matthew Vaughn’s First Class and Singer’s return to Marvel with Days of Future Past. So, rounding out this prequelogy (pretty sure that’s not really a thing, but it sounds neat) is the impressive looking X-Men: Apocalypse. Due out next May, 2016 is going to be a comic book smack down of epic proportions, both on-screen and at the box office. Enjoy this first trailer…

    G-S-T Review…Young Ones

Bold and ambitious, yet simple and economic, Jake Paltrow’s neo-Western, Young Ones, should be remembered for two things. First, it paints an amazing portrait of a near-future that is so plausible, it’s nearly on our doorstep. Second, while the characters lead bleak lives, this sci-fi picture never lets the science fiction get in the way of the story. Although somewhat exaggerated, and detestable at times, the human element really shines in this dismal but slightly hopeful narrative. At first, Young Ones comes across like a post-apocalyptic vision of the future. Paltrow imagines what life beyond the skylines of a Blade Runner type universe might be like. Yet, while set in a harsh, desert-like…

    Sweet Trailer…’Young Ones’

As far as sci-fi films go, the world, for the last decade or so, is and has been in a bit of a cultural renaissance (longer if you consider The Matrix turned 15 this year). It’s true however that high caliber thinking-man’s sci-fi or weighty wham bam actioners are not so abundant that we have to swat them away from our screens. But, even in short supply, the quality and content of narrative titles like Inception and Primer not only challenges our intellects but also makes up for everything else out there that doesn’t. Anyway, we won’t bore you with existentialism or long-winded ramblings, just check out this awesome looking…

    G-S-T Review…Jack The Giant Slayer

There’s so much that’s so wrong with Jack the Giant Slayer that it’s difficult to know where to begin. Once upon a time, Bryan Singer actually made a pair of good movies in the 90s before churning out mediocre superhero movies and historical thrillers in the aughts. Somewhere in that timeline he also fell in with Peter Jackson, but you don’t need to pay attention to history to figure that one out; you just need to watch Jack the Giant Slayer, although I wouldn’t recommend it. Maybe the worst crime here, or at least the hardest to fathom, is that somebody in a boardroom actually thought that the concept of a fantasy reinterpretation…

    G-S-T Review…Warm Bodies

Ah, young love. It’s a tale as old as time and no matter how far we come as a society will remain one of life’s greatest complexities. The uncertainty of affectionate advances, the confidence it takes to even talk to a member of the opposite sex, etc. etc. In Warm Bodies, the adaptation of Isaac Marion’s popular YA novel, Jonathan Levine takes us through the trials and tribulations of amorous adolescents we’ve seen countless times before but with one small detail thrown in to further complicate matters – a zombie apocalypse. Levine delivers this young adult yarn that is just bursting with originality. It’s a witty, genre-bending story, and a coming of age…

Interview…’Warm Bodies’ Stars Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer

Nicholas Hoult (About A Boy, X-Men: First Class) and Teresa Palmer (I Am Number Four) star in Jonathan Levine‘s latest film, a hysterical and heart-warming story about young love…and zombies. Warm Bodies is the feature film adaptation of the novel of the same name from Isaac Marion and it’s a wonderfully inventive and original take on traditional zombie films. Moreover it puts such a clever spin on the mythology that it succeeds in making a ludicrous concept into something delightful, endearing and a bit of a paradigm shift. GoSeeTalk sat with the two stars to talk about their experiences making a Zombie love story that is as fun and witty as it is self-aware. Read through the highlights of our…

Definitely Dead: Summit Shows Off the First Four Minutes of 'Warm Bodies'

More than a few of us have likely wondered at one point or another what goes through a zombie’s head on a daily basis. Do they remember who they were? Can they conjure up any thoughts on what life used to be like before, well, death? Is their only concern finding their next meal? Back in 2011, Isaac Marion sought to answer this question with his YA novel, Warm Bodies, and this coming February Jonathan Levine will follow up the success of 50/50 with an adaptation of Marion’s book. If you’re like me, you’re excited for this and you’re not embarrassed in the slightest; the story is very clearly a descendant of Twilight, but…
