Ohhh, Look…Anatomy of Famous Movie Monsters

Sure, some, if not most, of the best movie monsters are nothing more than latex, foam, animatronics and heaps of prosthetics all of which are made famous by thankless performers sweating it out on movie sets. But what if those feared and memorable cinematic critters were living breathing creatures? Well in a fun series of anatomical illustrations we see how artist Brad McGinty sees these iconic film heavies. Thanks to Geekologie for the tip! So have a look at these awesome 80’s era diagrams…only don’t ask us to translate. Enjoy! Whatcha think? 100% dope are they not? A mix of John Hughes meets John Carpenter, this 80’s styled throw-back from Chris Butler and Sam Fell is bound to tickle your funny bone if you love all things creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky. One of a couple stop motion animated films left in 2012, this looks highly original all kinds of fun (having seen it, we can vouch for it on both counts). To get us closer to ParaNorman, which hits theaters this weekend, Mondo has released the digital versions of the posters they had printed up a few weeks ago. Here are 3 of the better ones,…

Ohhh, Look…First Teaser Poster for Disney's 'Oz the Great and Powerful'

One of the great things that’s happening in Hollywood is the exploration of ideas behind films we love. Back stories, prequels and the like show us a side to films/characters we thought we know and, when they’re done successfully, give much more depth and intricacy. However this isn’t the first time our understanding of Oz has been altered or enhanced as the Broadway musical Wicked is highly entertaining as it takes huge liberties with L. Frank Baum’s beloved story. But while Wicked focused on the little seen (and misunderstood) Witches, now we get a story from the side of another character who is just as important in the film, the actual Wizard of Oz: When…

This goes out to all you Pixar fans and 8-bit junkies. In case you haven’t heard, the gang at Pixar has come up with a pretty awesome sounding idea for a film called Wreck -It Ralph. Disney announced this project last August at the D23 Expo along with a string of titles. Most of those mentioned have already hit theaters but this has been one that we at G-S-T have been the most excited about. In the film, the main character Ralph decides he no longer wants to be the “bad guy”, and ventures into other games in hopes of becoming a “hero”. See? Told you it sounded awesome! While many film fans…

Ohhh, Look…New 'Men In Black 3' Poster

I’m not sure what to call the third Men In Black. Is it MIB3, MIIIB, Men In Black 3 (cubed)? Well whatever it’s called, the name is really inconsequential as it’s not what’s going to have to make up for the let down that was MIB2. Personally I’m still reeling from that and I bet I’m probably not the only one. One thing the world could have done without was seeing such popular characters phone in what was essentially a cash grab. So after a decade without the first last only line of defense against the worst scum of the universe, Agents J and K are back for a third outing. In December we…

    Ohhh, Look…Slick 'Drive' Character Banners/Posters

A few weeks ago Nicolas Winding Refn came through Dallas on a PA tour for his new film Drive. The film, in what I can tell you before the embargo allows us to post the review, is a tight, hard edged film that that is pure noir-styled perfection. Refn has a wonderfully detailed eye and as such his films are enticing, engaging and almost play out like visual poetry (even if the less than savory subject matter doesn’t agree with everyone). So have a look at the 6 new character banners and posters released by Film District after the jump…

Calling all you film fans, have I got a mixed bag of awesome to start off your Monday! Let’s begin with something that dropped on Friday. Here we have a first look at Ryan Reynolds as the titular character in Martin Campbell‘s upcoming Green Lantern. This video should be a good amount of eye candy and even though the footage looks unfinished and out of context footage from the film. Not enough to sell me as of now but I do want to see more. Ohhh, look…Slew of 'Lucas Lee' Posters

I was reading Empire Online and was happy to see this little post from earlier this month. If you hadn’t seen Scott Pilgrim vs The World yet, calm down, yes that is Chris Evans, no he hasn’t changed his name and no, there really isn’t a slew of Chris Evans films you missed. These are fictitious posters used to advertise fictional character Lucas Lee very fictitiously in the fictional Scott Pilgrim (yup, I just used fictitious four times…I’m pretty awesome). After looking at them all they’re pretty goofy but still kinda neat. Anyway, have a look at the rest…
