Sweet Trailer…Robert Eggers’ ‘The Lighthouse’ from A24

Ten years ago, no one would ever expected Robert Pattinson to be a fine actor, let alone a contemporary equivalent to Willem Dafoe. But after a string of well-acted, and better, well-selected endeavors, he’s charmed the pants off critics and audiences alike. So while we’re two years away from seeing him take flight in The Batman (there’s a great Twitter comment that, paraphrasing, says he’s a terrible vampire…it took him eleven years to turn into a bat) you can get caught up on films like High Life, Good Time, The Rover, and The Lost City of Z and then catch him in Robert Eggers‘ latest nail-biter. Enjoy this first look into…

    G-S-T Review…The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2

Brace yourselves Twilight fans, it all comes down to this. No more brooding, no more long awkward affectionate stares or lip-biting. This final installment gives fans the climactic showdown between the Cullens and Volturi they’ve been patiently waiting for (well, kind of). Suffice to say nothing in the series has been more thrilling or satisfying than this. This final installment also finds Bella, with baby in tow, joining the Cullen clan in the way she believed herself born to live, as a full on vampire. There’s less focus on Bella’s former life (sorry fans no Anna Kendrick and co here) as the story moved with long strides to meet, head on, the Volturi…

  • The CineMagic 8-Ball

    “The CineMagic 8-Ball” – In Theaters 11/16/12

When so many movies are released each weekend and trailers often seem better than the movie itself, what should one do? In this precarious situation, we consult the The CineMagic 8-Ball (TM) to help us see through the nebulous marketing haze. Doing so just might save us all a disheartening trip to the cinema and spare us unnecessarily springing for $7 popcorn. See what the 8-Ball says about this week’s releases… ——————————————————————————————————————————————- LINCOLN In a nation divided by war and the strong winds of change, Lincoln pursues a course of action designed to end the war, unite the country and abolish slavery. Robert Pattinson, Carey Mulligan Costar in "Hold Onto Me"

Following Robert Pattinson’s post-Twilight* career trajectory is so far turning out to be a productive use of time; he’s already stepped out of the boundaries of that franchise by taking the lead in David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis (Grady’s review), he’s on the cast of Werner Herzog’s next outing, and now he’s signed up for James Marsh’s post-Shadow Dancer project, Hold Onto Me, where he’ll work with the endlessly talented Carey Mulligan. Pattinson takes efforts to prove himself as a real actor daily, it seems, and while Mulligan has no such chip on her shoulder she’s still one of the best young actresses working in film today, so suffice it to say that I’d be…

Trailer…'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2'

Every saga has its end, and aside from Christopher Nolan’s final Batman film, Twilight’s sunset is imminent (let’s forget about the reboot rumors for now shall we). Likened to Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill and the final Harry Potter film, apparently there was just too much juicy brooding and lip biting in the Breaking Dawn book that it needed to be told in two parts. So here we are with the first full trailer for the second half of the last Twilight film…did I go too fast for anyone? Behold, Edward, Bella and Jacob’s final hurrah. In this film, Bella and Edward’s daughter Renesmee is misidentified as an “immortal child” which leads the Cullens…

    Sweet (Red Band) Teaser…'Cosmopolis'

David Cronenberg  is undoubtedly a visionary…even if most people don’t get or understand his vision. Still, just to make it through any number of his films, like Naked Lunch or Videodrome for instance, deserves a pat on the back. His last film A Dangerous Method didn’t seem all too Cronenbergish but don’t worry dear fans, he still has weird on the brain. Case in point. The upcoming film Cosmoplolis which stars Robert Pattinson who plays a young billionaire Eric Packer. Recently faced with losing his empire, he begins to uncover clues that lead him to a more dire and terrifying secret: his imminent assassination. All you R-Pat fans, be advised, this teaser is weird and more importantly NSFW.…

Trailer…'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I'

Not long ago we posted the very first teaser for the final film in the Twilight Saga (well Part I anyway). As Mrs. Go,See,Talk is a rabid fan (still short of being a Twi-hard though) this is really for her. Hmm, between Edward and Elvis she seems to have this strange fascination with dead guys…Anyway, for your brooding enjoyment here is the official trailer for The Twilight Saga’s Breaking Dawn – Part I:   Past the first film (which I was surprised it wasn’t the total nose dive I was expecting) the series for me had been about as cold as the Cullens themselves. But as I’ve been told the…

Sweet (Shirtless) Trailer…’Breaking Dawn: Part I’

Anyone watching the MTV Movie Awards (boy I still think that in itself is a major contradiction) this year was again helped to some major Twilight teasing. Like the clip of New Moon that was shown in 2009 and last year’s Eclipse trailer, this first real look at the Twilight Saga’s final chapter (well Part I at least) was unveiled much to the screaming delight of the Twihards. For those of you missed it, have a look. And when a better quality clip becomes available, we’ll repost it. I’m not going to lie, I like Twilight (the first one anyway). Also, I kind of have to as Mrs. GoSeeTalk is a fan.…
