Hans Zimmer's 'Man of Steel' Soundtrack Gets a Two-Disc Special Edition

Even though June 14th is so close we can almost touch it, we’re still going to have to wait just about three weeks before we get to see Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot blaze across the screen. From the trailers and marketing campaign to the actors and the creative team, there’s really nothing about this production that doesn’t scream epic blockbuster hit. Yet as much as we’re ready to be blown away by the visual marvels Snyder will unleash, we at GST are even more pumped to hear the sound that Hans Zimmer brings to the film. As of right now Zimmer’s score will be released on Tuesday June 11th and…

Sweet Teaser Trailers…Zack Snyder's 'Man of Steel'

With The Dark Knight Rises now in theaters, Warner Bros. and DC Comics have reached the end of Christopher Nolan’s fantastic and hugely successful Batman trilogy. As is the norm these days, just because the credits roll it doesn’t mean the story is over. Case in point. Depending on what theater you were in when you saw the epic finale to Nolan’s Gotham City based story arc, you were party to one of two teaser trailers for the studios’ next highly anticipated release. Next year we will see the reboot of the big blue boy scout but in this re-imagining, like Nolan’s Batman actually, we’re going to get a version…

Hans Zimmer Scoring Zack Snyder's 'Man of Steel'

From one great DC hero to another, maestro of Bwaaah, Hans Zimmer looks to trade the depths of Gotham for the heights of Metropolis. That’s right Super-friends, for his next project, Zimmer will be going up, up and away to score Zack Snyder’s Superman film. With his work on the final Nolan Batman in the can (you can listen to samples of it here), Zimmer is free to begin work on the Zack Snyder-directed, Christopher Nolan-produced Superman reboot titled Man of Steel which is slated to soar into theaters about a year from now on June 14th, 2013. Yet, in the long history of many a failed/unrealized Superman project, as…

'300: Battle of Artemisia' Adds Minor Roles For Gerard Butler and Lena Headey

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything solid about the follow up to Zack Snyder’s 300. But news from Movies.com gives us just an update (as well as some story line familiarity) beyond heresay and rumors a plenty. Producer Bernie Goldmann has confirmed that, “It’s a different story. [However] there’s a small part for Lena Headey. There’s a small part for Gerry [Butler].” Bringing back King Leonidas and Queen Gorgo in any capacity for this prequel will help tie the two film together even though they more than likely will be regulated to a cameo. Some argue the casting lesser-knowns in the first film helped its success. In that respect you could go as…

Ohhh, Look…First Image of Henry Cavill as Superman for 'Man of Steel'

Boy now this takes me back; I remember last time we got our first look at the “new” Superman. Today we get a look at the young Henry Cavill wearing Kal-El‘s iconic suit but I have to say I’m a little taken aback. Why’s that you ask? Well it’s the hair. Now while I really shouldn’t knit-pick this early in the game, I can’t help myself…all I can focus on is the hair. Am I the only one?? Well, if you haven’t seen it yet, have a look for yourself after the jump…

Zack Snyder's 'Man of Steel' Adds Russell Crowe As Jor-El

Crikey!! While the Supes front has been quiet since the last A-list addition, out of left field comes the casting news of the millennium!! OK maybe not that great but certainly an eye opener for sure. And why not?? Russel Crowe, if you’ll excuse my French, is the effen man!! Variety has just released info that puts General Maximus in the role of Jor-El, Superman’s biological father. Variety does say he’s “in negotiations” but so far all signs point to it being locked up. So while the film world is still trying to get the taste of the poorly received Sucker Punch out of its mouth, this casting tidbit is one entirely…

'Man of Steel' May Kneel Before…Michael Shannon?

If we humble film fans know anything about Christopher Nolan it’s that he likes to mess with our heads. Since Zack Snyder is helming the new Superman film Man of Steel for Mr. Nolan, it seems Zacky-boy wasn’t quite honest with us regarding the villain of his new film. So what does that mean you ask. Well I’ll cut to the chase. When we were told the would be no kneeling before Zod, that was, in fact, a lie (read: LIE)! Over the weekend a very unlikely actor has been announced for a pivotal and highly speculated role in Man of Steel. From Screen Rant, we get a little more…

    G-S-T Review…Sucker Punch

Sucker Punch has a whole lotta everything going on, and I do mean everything. To its credit, the gritty and gorgeous CG mess in front of your eyes should make everyone in the theater smile, even if they don’t really know why or what’s going on. This film has it all and Snyder’s style is there in spades. But it does lack a depth that made his previous film Watchmen so compelling. Granted Zack Snyder didn’t write the Watchmen graphic novel so the level of expectation can’t be that comparable in terms of story. But Sucker Punch tells a tale as odd/mixed as a child taking out his toys and playing with…

    Awesome 'Sucker Punch' Animated Comic

Zack Snyder has been making hit after hit after hit in Hollywood. His artistic style and his hi-octane level of film make him appeal to a such a wide range of film fans. So before he dazzles us with the upcoming Superman film he offers us a delectable nugget of visual awesomeness in the form of one Sucker Punch. So, like a kid at Christmas I eagerly await his upcoming film that looks to be saturated with so much style and eye candy it’ll make your head spin. To help get more people on board, here is a neat looking animated short/tie-in to Sucker Punch called “The Trenches”. Light on…

Costner Approached for Snyder's Superman…Wait, WHAT?

Fans of G-S-T should know there are three actors I will watch in anything: Sylvester Stallone, Michael Keaton and Kevin Costner. Imagine my surprise yesterday to hear that Ray Kinsella himself, Kevin Costner (supposedly) has been approached regarding a role in Zack Snyder’s Superman film. Wow, this just makes me…sorry, *wipes tear of joy from face* this is the best news/rumor I’ve heard this year. But is this fan speculation or is there merit to it. Known for credible and very reliable facts, Latino Review is reporting what the role is but just because it’s on the internet doesn’t mean it’s written in stone…yet. I’m still waiting for news straight from the mouth of Zack Snyder. So…

The Wait for Superman Is Over

Yes friends, the coveted role of Kal-El has gone to one Henry Cavill. So much to the chagrin of Tom Welling, Brandon Routh and countless fan-boys the world over wanting them to reprise their roles, Superman will instead be played by a 27 year old British actor (of “The Tudors” fame previously). Kind of weird coming off the weekend and reading headlines like “The Man of Steel is a Brit!!” right? But hey, stranger things have happened. While this seems out of the blue, this does come down from the top in an official statement released yesterday: “In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and…
