The Hollywood Reporter‘s hour long roundtable series never fails to assemble a diverse group of talented filmmakers. These sessions allow the featured parties time to talk about their craft and share experiences/stories with one another in addition to answering a wide range of questions. The result is one fascinating discussion after another. Last week we featured their Directors session and equally enjoyable is this roundtable with a very eclectic mix of writers. Sometimes the creative individuals who pen the stories we love get overlooked but this video let’s them get their say and it’s really worth the time spent.
The line up this year includes journalist and Oscar-winning screenwriter Mark Boal (Zero Dark Thirty), Judd Apatow (This Is 40), German auteur Michael Haneke (Amour), John Krasinski (Promised Land), David Magee (Life of Pi), and Chris Terrio (Argo). So enjoy this conversation with the men of the pen!
As the year comes to a close, and awards season kicks up, these videos are always something to look forward to. The Hollywood Reporter never fails to bring great guests together and each session literally outshines the last. By giving focus and attention to these (sometimes) more overlooked personalities, THR’s roundtables helps garner interest in films that audiences maybe haven’t seen or had no interest to see. Ultimately it makes the lead in to awards all the more exciting and I love every minute of them. So whaddya think of this video?
