“What’s New on Blu?” – Week of 05/14/12

What's New on Blu?

Whether you rent or buy movies, Blu-ray offers the ultimate in sight and sound. Streaming is convenient, but if you plan on watching the movie more than once, you need Blu. So, What’s New On Blu? you ask. Well, good, bad or indifferent, Go,See,Talk offers up a trio of titles that are hitting retail shelves this week…

A group of oil-rig roughnecks are left stranded on the sub-arctic tundra after their plane experiences a complete mechanical failure and crashes into the remote Alaskan wilderness. The survivors, battling mortal injuries, biting cold and ravenous hunger, are relentlessly hunted and pursued by a vicious pack of rogue wolves. The Grey is a keeper and will make a fine addition to my movie collection. GoSeeTalk gives it two thumbs up…check out our review here.

Blu-ray Release Date (U.S.):  Tuesday, May 15, 2012.

Three high school friends gain superpowers after making an incredible discovery. Soon, though, they find their lives spinning out of control and their bond tested as they embrace their darker sides. Chronicle got some good reviews and has an above average rating on most sites. A great use of the found footage style of film making, we really enjoyed it (check out our review here) and would recommend that you comic fans take look at this entertaining spin on the super hero sub-genre. It’s worth a rental at the very least.

Blu-ray Release Date (U.S.):  Tuesday, May 15, 2012.

Unemployed and newly-divorced Stephanie Plum lands a job at her cousin’s bail-bond business, where her first assignment puts her on the trail of a wanted local cop from her romantic past.  One for the Money is one that may not be worth the money.  You might want to rent this one first, it didn’t receive much love from fans and critics alike. More like Run from the Money😛

Blu-ray Release Date (U.S.):  Tuesday, May 15, 2012.
