They say you can’t keep a good [iron] man down. He’s beaten Obadiah Stane, kicked the “demon in the bottle” and even Whiplash. So for the upcoming third installment in Marvel’ s (and Disney’s) Iron Man franchise Robert Downey Jr. is back and he’s brought some friends. Over the years we’ve seen Tony Stark grow from a one many army to enlisting some help in the form of Lt. Col. James Rhodes, and in The Avengers it was, well, The Avengers.
In this film he’s going up against The Mandarin (played by Ben Kingsley) and Aldrich Killian (played by Guy Pearce), and he’s gonna need all the help he can get. That help comes in the form of Tony’s new system upgrades which allow him to remote control his Mark suits, effectively called the “Iron Legion”. So have a glimpse at the awesomeness to come this Spring!!
Now the Iron Legion brings up some questions; namely what Mark suits will we see blaze across the screens? Well Screen Rant ran an Iron Man post which featured a few awesome looking concept photos…but we stress “concept”. Since Hulk has not been mentioned even once in relation to this film The Hulkbuster armor seems odd and unlikely to make an appearance (unless it’s an “in progress” joke Tony makes in passing) but it’s still cool to look at and maybe we’ll see it in the future. Same goes for the Deep-Space armor but who knows for sure. For now, enjoy!
Like what you see? Well we don’t have that long to wait. This third Iron Man film will be directed by Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) which he also co-wrote. Iron Man 3, which takes place after the events of The Avengers, stars Robert Downey Jr., Ben Kinglsey, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, and others including previous Iron Man director Jon Favreau.
