The Descendants follows a land baron who tries to re-connect with his two daughters after his wife is seriously injured in a boating accident. George Clooney delivers on one of his most deeply personal performances to date. This movie might hit a little too close to home for some, but it’s certainly worth a look on Blu-ray. My Week with Marilyn stars Michelle Williams in her Oscar nominated performance as Marilyn Monroe. This film depicts the tense interaction between Sir Laurence Olivier and Marilyn Monroe, during production of The Prince and the Showgirl. If nothing else, you should at least rent this movie on Blu-ray.

Oooh, I might rent The Adventures of Tintin again as I really enjoyed it on the big screen. I really want to see the Special Features, too. I also missed ‘My Week with Marilyn’ so definitely will be renting that.

I missed Tintin and Marilyn and I’m really looking forward to checking them out. I loved The Descendants so I think this is a BUY for me.

It’s definitely a big week for Bluray/DVD releases. I very much enjoyed The Descendants and I’ve been wanting to see both Tin Tin and Marilyn, but missed out when they were in the theater. I also am excited to see Young Adult and I’m curious to try out Melancholia, both of which I read are coming out this week as well! Thanks for the update!

No prob Kristin! Some week there really are just too many to chose. But I’ve been eagerly awaiting this first batch of really great films from last year 2011. The ones I love I’m sure to get but the ones I missed I can’t wait to give a spin on Blu-Ray.
