    Sweet Trailer…'The Hangover III'

The three best friends that anyone could have are back for their third outing and this time the boys are going out with a bang. As the poster tagline denotes, “It All Ends” but before we get too excited we have ask, what, if anything, did they learn from their last misadventure? We hope they answered that retreaded (rotoscoped is more like it) jokes just don’t have the same impact. To be fair, that blatant redo of the first film’s jokes was the joke but sadly it all landed with a dud…or maybe it got lost in translation. Anyway, we’re in America and here our heroes get three strikes, right?…

Ohhh, Look…The Dean of 'Monsters University' Welcomes You

Earlier this week we were treated to the UK trailer for Pixar‘s upcoming Monsters University. We also got a small batch of see hi-rez images and posters to oogle over and things continually look to be shaping up nicely for this prequel to Pete Docter’s monster hit (pun intended!). Well continuing their world building, by way of the fun viral website that was launched a few months back, today we get a very special message from the Dean of Monsters University. If you’re interested in matriculating at MU and going from great students to great scarers, then this message is for YOU! Sweet UK Trailer…'Monsters University'

Well, this is a pleasant early-morning, post-blizzard (for you North Easterners!) treat. I’m still not sold on a return trip to the Monsters, Inc. universe, but it’s hard for me to watch the full trailer for Pixar’s prequel to that picture, the inventively titled Monsters University, without cracking a partial smile. But don’t take my word for it– have a look yourself and see what you think of the animation giant’s latest: Unlike the promo material we’ve seen for the film in the last few months or so, this trailer introduces the vague outlines of plot to the project. Given that we already know how things turn out between Sully…

You Didn't Hand In Your Term Paper Wazowski…'Monsters University' Teaser Posters

Pixar and director Pete Docter‘s wonderful film Monsters, Inc. scared up lots of laughs and smiles with its heart-warming story back in 2001. While the studio has had success with sequels, this charming film had an ending that no one in their right mind would mess with. So what’s an animation powerhouse like Pixar to do? Well they decided to take this story back a little bit. In this “prequel”, the film will give us a a look at the relationship between Mike and Sulley during their days at the University of Fear — when they weren’t necessarily the best of friends. And these two teaser posters (and teaser trailer) give us a hint of what…

    G-S-T Review…ParaNorman

In the vein of iconic monster/adventure properties like The Monster Squad, Scooby-Doo even The Iron Giant comes Laika’s follow-up to their hit film Coraline. ParaNorman, is a fantastically intricate stop-motion (or “stop-frame” to you film fans in the UK) animated film that follows Norman, a young boy who is more than a little obsessed with the macabre…he can actually see and communicate with ghosts. He takes it all in stride but is most definitely an outcast but like all great outcasts, he’s destined to save the day because of his eccentricities. It’s a common story but from the mind of Chris Butler, this more or less familiar theme is spun just enough and is ‘wonky’ enough…

Sweet Trailer…'Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close'

A decade after the events of September 11th I’m not sure anyone is close to being done greiving…but enough time has passed that should have let a larger number of people come to terms with it. Not long after I left yesterday’s screener of Margaret (review coming on 10/7) I found this on our buddy Castor’s page Anamolous Material. After coming out of such a heavy and lengthy film, which in a way dealt with the aftermath of 9/11 as well, I think I needed this quasi-pick-me up. Behold, the first trailer for the film adaptation of Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close… From the point of view of 9-year-old Oskar (amateur inventor,…
