An ex-cop and now wanted fugitive stands on the ledge of a high-rise building while a hard-living New York Police Department negotiator tries to talk him down. The longer they are on the ledge, the more she realizes that he might have an ulterior objective. Man on a Ledge was released to mixed reviews, but is by far the best title being released this week. Memorial Day, 1993. When 13-year-old Kyle Vogel discovers the World War II footlocker belonging to his grandfather, Bud, they strike a deal: Kyle can pick any three souvenirs, and Bud will tell him the story behind each one. Memorial Day not only takes us on a journey into Bud’s complicated past, but also into Kyle’s future, as we see him as an adult in 2005, now a soldier with the coalition forces in Iraq. The only thing that may drive sales of this movie is the title and well coordinated release date. Happy Memorial Day and a special thank you to active and inactive U.S. military.

Gone was not well received, so you may consider renting or passing on this one all together.
