Exclusive First Listen: Jeff Russo & Perrine Virgile’s Sophisticated and Ominous Score to ‘Scarpetta’

They say that second chances are pretty hard to resist. And the “they” is Bobby Canavale in a line of dialog taken from Scarpetta, the newest series in the Prime Video catalog. This adaptation of the best selling novels from Patricia Cornwall follows brilliant forensic pathologist uses forensic technology to solve crimes. So, that’s great and all, but why is this ME procedural interesting? Well, the fact that the story is told in two time periods (a al This Is Us) is alluring and the cast is just tip-top.

Yet there is one more reason to cheer and get the feels – a score from Jeff Russo & Perrine Virgile. Scarpetta (Prime Original Series Soundtrack) sports a sophisticated orchestral cocktail that reaches dramatically ominous heights providing a vivid backdrop to the crime thriller series based on the iconic literary heroine. We’re thrilled to share this exclusive track from the Lakeshore Records score ahead of the full release.

Russo is an Emmy Award-winning and Grammy-nominated composer, scoring varied and compelling music for film, television and video games. His upcoming projects include Apple TV+’s Cape Fear; Amazon Prime’s season 2 of Citadel to name just a handful of his credits. He’s no stranger to running multiple projects at the same time. To do so, he gets a fair amount of help from Perrine Virgile, longtime co-composer and friend who contributed to projects like Fargo.
