Ohhh, Look…‘Amazing Spider-Man 2′ Stills, Sony Goes Green and Spidey Named First Superhero Ambassador for EARTH HOUR

If you thought too many cooks in the kitchen spoiled the soup in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 then what do you say to half a dozen baddies? That’s right web-heads…Spider-Man will likely be facing the wrath of the legendary, but re-imagined and transitional Sinister Six. Electro, Rhino and some form of the Goblin we know/think will be testing Parker’s mettle but the trailers hint at Vulture, Doc Ock and don’t forget about Dr. Conners who is still in prison. The carnage (we wish he was in this) that awaits Peter is setting up a pretty bold story line. Not only is he facing multiple foes in his second at bat but…

Sweet Trailer…’The Two Faces Of January’

While we haven’t seen much of Viggo Mortensen in a while (sad face) Oscar Isaac on the other hand is everywhere! The two will star along with Kirsten Dunst in this spectacular looking thriller from Drive screenwriter Hossein Amini. It’s a retro styled film just teeming with suspense that’s all wrapped up in an international web of intrigue. Check out the first trailer for The Two Faces of January below… A thriller centered on a con artist, his wife, and a stranger who try to flee a foreign country after one of them is caught up in the murder of a police officer. The film is adapted from a novel…

    Sweet Trailer…Wally Pfister’s ‘Transcendence’

If the name Christopher Nolan means anything to you then the name Wally Pfister should be just as familiar. Long time collaborator and Nolan’s go-to cinematographer/visual genius is making his directorial debut with this riveting sci-fi thriller for Warner Bros. This second trailer gives a deeper look into the story but from the images and plot details hinted at in the first trailer I’m amazed that the concepts will be able to fit into one film. This looks like it should be a mini-series, or trilogy at the very least. Anyway, enjoy this spell-binding trailer and synopsis below… A terminally ill scientist downloads his mind into a computer. This grants…

Ohhh Look…'300: Rise of an Empire' Featurette Showcases Characters and Explains Story

For all you action hounds awaiting a second course of Spartan glory, that time is almost at hand. To whet your appetites, Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have released a tasty featurette for the Noam Murro directed 300: Rise of an Empire. The last trailer to come down the pike gave us a good idea of what to expect, story-wise, but this goes even further. It’s roughly the kind of surface level but in-depth feature you’ll find on the Blu Ray but oh well. Have a look as Murro and co., even Zack Snyder help connect the dots to the adrenaline fueled 2006 dance of death, better known as 300. Enjoy…

    Sweet Trailer…’Maladies’

Well I guess two bits of news about James Franco just aren’t enough this week. Today we have the trailer for another Franco picture (this one coming sooner than Palo Alto and something a little more light-hearted from the sound of it), the off-beat and quirky looking indie Maladies. It looks to be quite a lot of quirky fun but not in that I’m trying too hard to be different hipster vibe. No, this looks like a good time and possibly what James Franco’s life is really like. Anyway, because that told you nothing about the film, enjoy this trailer for Maladies… Maladies is written and directed by Carter (yes, he goes…

Gia Coppola’s Directorial Debut ‘Palo Alto’ Brings James Franco’s Short Stories to the Big Screen

James Franco is everywhere these days and up next he’ll star in Gia Coppola’s acclaimed debut feature film Palo Alto. The film screened last year in the Venice, Telluride and Toronto Film Festivals and is based on several linked stories in James Franco’s book of the same name. The story, a James Franco and Rabbit Bandini Productions presentation, chronicles the complicated ties and heightened emotions among a group of high school students. Shy, sensitive April (Emma Roberts) is a popular soccer player and frequent babysitter for her single-dad coach, Mr. B. (James Franco). Teddy (played by Jack Kilmer) is an introspective artist whose best friend and sidekick Fred (Nat Wolff) is…

Interview…Film Composer Patrick Doyle Talks ‘Jack Ryan’, Love of Country and Having A Laugh At It All

Hailing from Uddingston, Scotland, musical maestro Patrick Doyle always has the hugest smile on his face, which makes him either the happiest guy on the planet, or someone who just really, really loves his job. Perhaps it’s both, but you can’t go a few seconds without hearing him laugh. Even over the phone you can sense the endless joy in his voice when he talks about his career, his passion and his good friend Sir Kenneth Branagh. In fact, the rare (but widely abundant on the web) photo above is one of the few times you won’t see him grinning like a kid with a key to a candy store.…
