The Dallas International Film Festival presented by Boardwalk Auto Group Volkswagen Dealers announced today that a Dallas Star Award would be presented to one of the great legends of costume design, Mr. Bernie Pollack. DIFF also announced that rising star, Ms. Gabourey Sidibe will be honored with the Dallas Shining Star Award for the contribution she has made to film in her short, yet impressive career to date. Dallas IFF Announces Full Schedule for 2012 Festival
The Dallas International Film Festival, presented by Boardwalk Auto Group Volkswagen Dealers, announced today that the past president and CEO of United Artists and Orion Pictures respectively, Eric Pleskow, will be honored for his lifetime achievements in the film industry at the Dallas Film Society Honors on April 20. Honoree and First 15 Films Announced For The 2012 Dallas IFF
The Dallas International Film Festival has just announced the first fifteen films chosen to screen at the sixth edition of the festival. The lineup includes two world premieres and nine Texas premieres (listed below). This year the Festival (which runs from April 12 – 22, 2012) will be honoring legendary animator, director, author and illustrator Glen Keane as this recipient of this year’s Texas Avery Animation Award. Keane is best known for his work on Disney classics such as ALADDIN, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, TARZAN, THE LITTLE MERMAID and TANGLED, and he previously received the prestigious Winsor McCay Award, which is also presented for lifetime achievement in animation.
