Ohhh, Look…13-Minute Promo and Gorgeous Screenshots from Zack Snyder's 'Man of Steel'

Let’s cut right to the chase. Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel is one of the most anticipated films this year and may, in all likelihood, be the biggest film of 2013. So with that said, let’s just get to the good stuff. Below are over a dozen awesome looking hi-rez screen shots from MoS and while we at GST like to go on media blackout (read: taking a stance not to post every single trailer or spoiler-laced TV spot that comes down the pike) when it comes to something we REALLY want to see, this time however we’ll make a small exception. Below is a 13-minute promo for the film followed by…

Exclusive: Interview (Part I)…Film Composer Harry Gregson-Williams Discusses Scoring ‘The East’

As much as we love films at GST, we love film scores just a little bit more. Zal Batmanglij’s amazing follow up to his stunning debut effort Sound of My Voice, The East resembles a smart ’70s styled throwback thriller that is smart, engaging and dripping with cool. One fine element in the cog of that brilliant machine is the score, well themes really, from the one and only Harry Gregson-Williams. I was extremely excited to take a phone call from Harry to talk about The East as well as his astonishingly diverse and accomplished career. This was an amazing hour long interview and because of the breadth of topics I…

    G-S-T Review…La Camioneta

Guatemala’s main source of transportation comes from drivers of colorfully painted, refurbished buses known as “camionetas.” These drivers and their decorated buses are responsible for providing the majority of Guatemalans a way to make a living by transporting them to and from work each day. For as long as he can remember, Ermelindo has had a dream of owning one of these buses, and to perform this service that is so essential to the people of Guatemala and their way of life. The documentary feature debut from Mark Kendall (www.markkendall.net), La Camioneta, follows the bus that will eventually serve to fulfill Ermelindo’s long-awaited dream, as it makes it’s way from…

    G-S-T Review…Now You See Me

Louis Leterrier. That name means different things to different people. But when telling a tale that’s a quasi-magical, quasi-heist film, he seems the perfect fit for this type of story. None of his films are known to contain very much substance, yet, on a cursory level, they are comprised of mostly breezy entertainment with a strong, and slightly fun visual sense. Smoke, mirrors, and misdirection are the tools of a magician and Leterrier works in the same medium, one where everything is an illusion; a hollow one with no great revelation behind the curtain, only disappointment. That sounds incredibly harsh as Now You See Me, for most of the duration at least, is…
