Oh happy day for all you Gelfling fans!! I just got done reading this ‘nostalgia pleasing’ post from MTV where it seems that, after years of rumors and off/on production details, the sequel to the beloved The Dark Crystal is now one step closer to pre-production and ultimately, the Silver Screen!! In the post, Brian Henson (son of Legendary Jim Henson) talks about how this movie and a Fraggle Rock film are “Ready to Go”, they just need to finalize some financing…hit this link to read the full post… The Dark Crystal is a film that I just love!! Now, I’ll tell you right off the bat that I’m not…

Is Ridley Scott's ALIEN prequel necessary??
Last week it was confirmed that Sir Ridley Scott would be directing the upcoming ALIEN “prequel”. News of the prequel (before Ridley’s attachment) hit the web a month ago and it seems people are split. Most posts I’ve read think that the ALIEN (and Predator) franchise needs a new direction but no one really knows where they want it to go. In similar news, Robert Rodriguez is working/developing a (worthy) Predator sequel, so it shows you that these famous creatures are in the public’s minds and hearts but after recent sub-par films, the studios should think twice about adding more weight to the already sinking ships. I think it’s too…

Site Update: Changes in Progress
Hello World, Marc Here: Well, we just wanted to inform all our fans and everyone else that G-C-T will be undergoing changes. Starting this Saturday, we will have our own domain and will now officially be changing our name to www.GoSeeTalk.com and from here on in we’ll now refer to ourselves as G-S-T (small difference, we know, but it’s still important). Some of the improvements that will come along with this are that we will soon be having our very own PodCasts, a new layout/logo/page structure and a few other surprises all in the near future. So, I believe this occasion calls for the immortal quote from Animal House…”Oh, boy…

G-S-T Review…Funny People
Judd Apatow and the gang just released Funny People starring Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen. I tried to avoid reading any early reviews posted from viewers of midnight screening and the like so I could go into this knowing only the basics. I’ll say I was impressed and here’s why: PREMISE: Adam Sandler plays stand-up comic turned professional comedy actor George Simmons. When George learns that he is diagnosed with a rare blood disease he tries to make the most out of the time he has left. Over the course of the movie he gets back to his roots in stand-up comedy and attempts to reach out to people to…

G-S-T Top 10 – Favorite Film Theme Songs
Hello World, Marc Here: It’s Tuesday and after watching the Back to the Future Trilogy this weekend, boy was it a treat to hear “The Power of Love”, “Back in Time” and even ZZ Top’s “Doubleback”. Songs like these are what make other classic movies I love even better. So it was with the culmination of that 6 hour nostalgia fest that I began thinking of other film songs or theme songs that really get me excited to see the movie every time I hear them. I’ll say right off the bat that some of these are guilty pleasures, some I listen to on a regular basis and others remind…

Sweet Trailer…'Mystery Team'
A few months ago I saw this trailer on Apple’s website and I laughed my ass off. This just looks like one very very clever and satirical take on The Hardy Boys, Scooby Doo and a few other iconic sleuthing teams (but I can’t put my finger on who they would be). For those of you who still have no idea what Mystery Team is…behold and be informed…we’ll reconvene after this short pause for witty detective humor:) [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMxEe2gnaQY] God, that’s still funny…When I first saw it I thought it was a joke or a film sooo independent in nature and production, that I would be hard pressed to find a…

G-S-T Review…Public Enemies
It was with high expectations that I set out to see how Michael Mann (of Thief, HEAT and Collateral fame) would tell the tale of ‘Public Enemy’ John Dillinger and his would be captor Melvin Purvis. Due to the impressive outcomes of his previous efforts, I’ve come to like Mann’s style and was anxious to see this film, but I did have some doubts based solely on the look of the trailer. My fiance and I walked into the theater expecting to be astounded…and the result was as follows: PREMISE: Great Depression era bank robber John Dillinger is pursued by J. Edgar Hoover and special agent Melvin Purvis (recently celebrated…

Why Aren't Movie Theaters Respected Venues Anymore???
Thinking about this post and how to compose it, I guess I’ll start by stating my opinion that like anything that includes the masses, things dispersed on a wide level for the general public just aren’t special or elite anymore – aviation, fine spirits, fancy cars, etc. One thing that is most definitely dumded down to include the masses is American Cinema and the movie house venues where they are shown. I don’t know why more people don’t treat movies like they’re special anymore. I think people take for granted how special a film should be – it should be an appreciation of art that took the work of hundreds…

The Usual "Monster" Suspects…
Hello World, Well we made it to Tuesday…small victories right? So to celebrate this mundane achievement I present this funny chart which compares the sizes of our favorite film monsters in a sort of ‘Police Line-up’ which makes me think of the t-shirt that was inspired from that line-up scene in The Usual Suspects. The guys over at First Showing are featuring a post that compares 11 iconic movie monsters beginning with Chucky from Child’s Play (WTF?!) and ending with the Cloverfield monster. I’ll let you view the image below and see who falls in the middle-ground… Now, if any of you so desire to own this image printed on…

Going way back…TBS Monkey-ed Movies!!
We’re going a little Retro here for this post on G-C-T. Does anyone out there remember these funny videos that were originally featured on TBS? I do and I sure wish they would make more of them now that there’s been a helluva a lot of good movies put out in the last 15 years. Wishful thinking I guess but until that day comes (and I hope it does) we can enjoy these clever little cinematic spoof gems. Below I have posted 3 of my favorites but check out the link at the bottom which has rest on YouTube. Enjoy!!! Here is the link to the search for all TBS…
