In James Vanderbilt’s Truth, (the adaptation of Mary Mapes’ book “Truth and Duty“), Redford plays the famous CBS anchor in a newsroom drama detailing the 2004 CBS 60 Minutes report investigating then-President George W. Bush’s military service. Enjoy the Yahoo! movies trailer below. TRUTH is an independent feature film based on the book “Truth and Duty” by Mary Mapes. Sweet Trailer…’Concussion’
Based on true events, and a GQ article, Will Smith headlines Columbia Pictures’ Concussion. Beyond being a captivating David vs. Goliath story, Peter Landesman’s film also sports an impressive cast. Yet to look at the release calendar, it doesn’t really matter how big a star you have in your film (Will Smith, Sam Jackson, Kurt Russell, etc.), anything opening at the tail end of December is going to face serious competition from J.J. Abrams’ little sci-fi piece about a galaxy far, far away. Anyway, enjoy the first trailer for Concussion. Will Smith stars in Concussion, a dramatic thriller based on the incredible true story of American immigrant Dr. Bennet Omalu, the…

Sweet Trailer…A24’s ‘The Witch’
It’s getting tougher and tougher to scare audiences these days. If it isn’t the film which lets people down (because it’s chock full of cliches or telegraphed jump scares) it is the trailers which give far too much away. But along comes A24‘s The Witch and things get back to basics. This is also very mysterious and legitimately creepy. No more words…enjoy the first look at The Witch below… Set in New England circa 1630, ‘The Witch’ follows a farmer who get cast out of his colonial plantation and is forced to move his family to a remote plot of land on the edge of an ominous forest rumored to be controlled…

Sweet Trailer…’Hell and Back’

From Shadow Machine, the animation studio behind Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken, and others like it, comes an adventure like no other. It’s a story of friendship that pits three friends against the mother of all baddies and an army of his misfit demons. And it looks like a perfect midnight movie…or at least a rental. Enjoy! Two best friends set out to rescue their pal after he’s accidentally dragged to hell. Hell and Back stars Mila Kunis, T.J. Miller, Michael Pena, Susan Sarandon, Paul Scheer, Bob Odenkirk,…

Sweet Trailer…Tom Hardy is Twice As Nice in ‘Legend’
Tom Hardy has, for the better part of decade, been on a role, and in his latest film, there’s twice as much Hardy to go around. From StudioCanal and Working Title come this pensive, dangerous and high energy trailer for the crime thriller Legend. The film stars Tom Hardy, in a dual role a la The Social Network, as he portrays both Reggie and Ron Kray, the notorious English gangsters who perpetrated organized crime in London’s East End during the ’50s and ’60s. From Academy Award winner Brian Helgeland (L.A. Confidential, Mystic River) comes the true story of the rise and fall of London’s most notorious gangsters, Reggie and Ron Kray,…

Sweet Trailer…Quentin Tarantino’s ‘The Hateful Eight’
For a filmmaker who is on the cusp of his own portended retirement, this could be one helluva swan song. Quentin Tarantino returns with his eagerly anticipated The Hateful Eight and already it looks like it will be everything we’ve been expecting. Touting a full-on roster of QT regulars, this snow bound, star-studded tale of betrayal and deception is going to be all the more striking when the Quentin’s glorious crimson spatters decorate a snowy white landscape. Man, this really makes me want to dive into Quentin’s last 4 or 5 films (especially Django), or any number of Kurt Russell flicks, just to tide me over. One thing is for…

Sweet (Teaser) Trailer…’Room’
Both highly suspenseful and deeply emotional, Room is a unique and unexpectedly tender exploration of the boundless love between a mother and her child under the most harrowing of circumstances. Sweet Trailer…’Spotlight’
We are die-hard Michael Keaton fans and Birdman (read our glowing review here) was everything we could have wanted – both for a story and for him as an actor. In his latest film, Keaton gets back into the world of journalism, which seems to be a theme. Anyone remember The Paper, or Live From Baghdad? Everyone knows he’s got the chops for a multitude of dramatic stories, but we would love to see another foray into comedy. Wishful thinking, but we’ll see anything he’s in without fail. So for now, Spotlight looks solid. Enjoy the trailer below… SPOTLIGHT is a tense investigative thriller, tracing the steps to one of the biggest crime stories in…

Sweet Trailer…’13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi’
If there’s one filmmaker who makes the films that he wants to see, regardless of what the critics say, it’s got to be Michael Bay. A bit of a change from his standard overblown (emphasis on both over and blown) blockbuster fare, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi is a slightly more sophisticated Bay film. We are fans of his Bayness and while it already looks like he’ll dazzle us with his visuals and cinematography, Steve Jablonsky is also on board to offer his musical energy to this pensive and action-packed thriller. Enjoy the first trailer below… An American Ambassador is killed during an attack at a U.S. compound…

Sweet Trailer…Rocky Spin-off ‘Creed’
We haven’t posted many trailers lately (being new Dad takes a lot of time) but this one I had to jump on. The upcoming Rocky spin-off, Creed, will follow the story of Adonis Creed, son of former heavyweight champion Apollo. Michael B. Jordan stars as the titular lead, and, you guessed it, he will seek out the one and only Rocky Balboa to be his trainer. Yet, after looking at the trailer, it’s not that simple of a story, nor will it be as hollow as it sounds. After all, this is written and by Ryan Coogler who made waves with Fruitvale Station. It’s gotta be better than Grudge Match, right? Enjoy…
