As of late, Ridley Scott’s films have sorely lacked the appeal of his earlier works. Since Kingdom of Heaven (we will always defend that Director’s Cut as being one of Ridley’s best works) or maybe even Gladiator, Scott’s recent track record has been hit and miss. Robin Hood, and The Counselor are among the biggest misfires, and let’s not revisit the disappointing reception of Prometheus. Also, we’re still scratching our head over the necessity of Exodus: Gods and Kings (check out our review here). Now it’s not that he’s ever made a bad film, or wasn’t devoted 110% to his own story, but not every film of his has been a winner. That said, we’re…

Similar, in part, to 2013’s Philomena (starring Judi Dench) it’s a powerful story about devotion and perseverance. Check out the official trailer for Noble below. Sweet Trailer…Kenneth Branagh’s ‘Cinderalla’
Whether the story is Shakespearean, a comic book adaptation or any number of taut thrillers, Kenneth Branagh‘s gift for weaving complex and compelling films knows no bounds. However, his next effort however finds him, somewhat, getting back to his roots. The live-action adaptation inspired by the classic fairy tale, Cinderella brings to life the timeless images from Disney’s 1950 animated masterpiece as fully-realized characters in a visually-dazzling spectacle for a whole new generation. Branagh is a fine director, but he really shines when a project affords him the opportunity to do something with some real theatricality to it. Have a look at the latest trailer below… The story of “Cinderella”…
