    Sweet Trailer…’Black Sea’

Jude Law wowed film fans this year in Dom Hemingway, Richard Shepard’s hilarious story about a retired safe-cracker. It really was the role of a lifetime for Law (check out our review here). But now, his next film finds him playing a character just as complex only far less animated. In Black Sea, Law plays a rogue submarine captain who, with a crew as reckless as he, is searching the depths of the titular Black Sea for sunken treasure. Sounds good to us, but if you’re not convinced, have a look at the first trailer below… A suspenseful adventure thriller directed by Academy Award winner Kevin Macdonald, centering on a rogue submarine…

    Sweet (Teaser) Trailer…’Inside Out’

After months (years, really) of waiting, Pixar Studios is finally ready to share the crazy idea from the mind of Pete Docter. Yes, that opening statement is a bit inside, but that’s the whole point! His latest film is called Inside Out and will take us to the most extraordinary location of all — inside the mind. It deals with the individual emotions of a young girl and stars Mindy Kaling, Bill Hader, Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith as well as the one and only Lewis Black who, of course, is playing Anger. Surprise, surprise. Not only is this the long-awaited follow up feature from the Oscar-winning Docter, but Inside Out…

    Sweet Trailer…’Cymbeline’

If you’re not into Shakespearean-styled films then this might not be your cup of tea. That said, the cast and this stylized trailer (Mad Max meets Macbeth?) should have naysayers clamoring to get their tickets. Cymbaline (which is based on William Shakespeare’s original text) unfolds as an epic battle between dirty cops and a drug dealing biker gang set in a corruption-riddled contemporary America. Again, check out that cast! Anyway, it looks intense so enjoy the first trailer for Cymbeline… King Cymbeline, leader of the Briton Motorcycle Club, clashes with the corrupt Roman Police while his radiant but disobedient daughter Imogen fends off assaults on her honor and her life. Cymbeline’s wife…

    Sweet Trailer…Abel Ferrara’s ‘Pasolini’

You may not recognize the name Pier Paolo Pasolini, but it’s a good bet you’ve heard of Salò or the 120 Days of Sodom or at least the infamy surrounding it. Well, to the non-Criterion loving film fans out there, Pier Paolo Pasolini is of one of cinema’s greatest directors. Further, Pasolini was tragically murdered after the release of the film and Abel Ferrara’s period piece deals with a very small portion of his life. This film looks enticing, in a decidedly artsy fashion, so if you fancy the works of the late director, then feast your eyes on these two trailers (note: the second one is dialogue-free). A look…

Unable to tell friend from foe, and increasingly wary of his own comrades, the raw recruit must survive the night alone and find his way to safety through a disorientating, alien and deadly landscape. Have a look at the trailer and poster below. A young and disoriented British soldier is accidentally abandoned by his unit following a riot on the deadly…

    Sweet Trailer…’Young Ones’

As far as sci-fi films go, the world, for the last decade or so, is and has been in a bit of a cultural renaissance (longer if you consider The Matrix turned 15 this year). It’s true however that high caliber thinking-man’s sci-fi or weighty wham bam actioners are not so abundant that we have to swat them away from our screens. But, even in short supply, the quality and content of narrative titles like Inception and Primer not only challenges our intellects but also makes up for everything else out there that doesn’t. Anyway, we won’t bore you with existentialism or long-winded ramblings, just check out this awesome looking…

    Sweet Trailer…’Mortdecai’

In the first quarter of the year, movie theaters are known to have a large number snore inducing titles. Furthermore, these “dump months” are rife with films that studios have very little faith in. Well, that’s not always the case and to prove it today we have a glimpse of a Johnny Depp vehicle that might not only abate but quell the Winter doldrums. Fingers crossed anyway as this looks hilarious! In the film, Depp (who looks to have just as much fun as Jack Sparrow only with better looking facial hair), plays debonair art dealer and part time rogue Charlie Mortdecai. Armed with his good looks and special charm,…
