Hey, film friends, have we got a treat for your ears! Our friends at Prime Video & Lakeshore Records have let us share an EXCLUSIVE track from Ruth Barrett‘s score to The Terminal List: Dark Wolf. This is the prequel series to The Terminal List and follows Ben Edwards’ journey from Navy SEAL to CIA operative.
Emmy Award-nominated composer Ruth Barrett is one of the UK’s most sought-after film and television composers. Her music is unmistakably original and eclectic, spanning feature films and high-end TV drama. And this new series is no different. For your enjoyment, grab some headphones and dive back into the world this world.
Lakeshore Records is releasing the soundtrack at the end of this month and, to get you excited, they’ve let us tee up this cue for your enjoyment. Check out “Freedom” below…
Barrett is pretty pleased with this effort. When asked about her work, she had this to say:
“This is a big theme in the show, which plays at a pivotal moment at the end of episode 1, when Ben crosses the line and commits an act of violence in the name of freedom that seals his fate. The music is epic and soulful -a solo string becomes an orchestra; it’s the passion inside him rising up despite the consequences.”
Barrett studied composition at The Royal Academy of Music and read music at Cambridge University. She started her career composing for theatre and commercials before setting up a music production company, Rubykon, with composer and engineer Ruskin Williamson. Between them, they have worked on numerous documentaries, ad campaigns and short films.
The Terminal List: Dark Wolf premiered on August 27th and the soundtrack is set for release by Lakeshore Reccords on August 29th. Click here to pre-save the album. Oh, and if you like her sonic style, Barrett has something else coming down the pike – The Girlfriend, directed by/starring Robin Wright, which premieres September 10th so look for that as well.
Taylor Kitsch returns as Ben Edwards in The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, out August 27 on Prime Video.
