I’ve become fan of Quentin’s all over again since this year’s absoultuely awesome Inglourious Basterds remake. So for you fans (new and old) The Hollywood Reporter has this little video of Quentin’s Top 8 movies so far this year. Interesting, albeit short and incomplete…

Funny when he says, “obviously not mentioning my movie“. The more I find out about him, the more I realize he’s not as pompous as I once thought. Definitely not high and mighty if he’s including Observe and Report and the Sam Raimi return to horror camp Drag Me to Hell in his list of “Best Films”. Ah, to each his own I guess, but what do you think? Anyone agree with his list so far? I’m about 50/50 with his selections, but that’s because I’ve only seen half of what he’s listed. Guess I gotta get off my ass, then subsequently sit right back down and watch those.

Thought it was a pretty solid list. Still need to see that Chocolate movie, seems like something that would be right up his alley. Star Trek really did kick ass though.

Agreed, it did kick ass! I was never a fan of Star Trek, but I think the beauty of the movie is that is catered to fans and non-fans alike. It’s hard to find many movies that can do that.

I’m not surprised by “Observe and Report” or “Drag Me to Hell,” both of which were dark-n-twisty in that way that’s either hysterically funny or hysterically disturbing. And I think we all can agree that Mr. Tarantino’s got a sense of humor that is, shall we say, slightly askance of mainstream.
Couldn’t agree more with either you or Aiden R. about “Star Trek” — it will (proudly) be included on my Best of 2009 list! Talk about a great summer blockbuster with more to offer than just special effects.

I’d have to say it was one of my favorite “unexpected” films of this year. Even the overuse of “lens flares” couldn’t keep me from having such a great time in the theater. Looking to pick it up on Blu Ray for sure.
