The creative minds behind one of Adult Swim’s longest-running and most popular shows are back to make TV watchable again. For more than twenty years, Aqua Teen Hunger Force creators Dave Willis and Matt Maiellaro have dialed into cultural irreverence to make us laugh. So it’s no surprise that they are equally fun to talk to…even if trying to stay in the conversation is like watching Winona Ryder do math. We chatted with Dave and Matt earlier this year for their movie Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm and while they appear to be straight nuts, they love their job, their work, and like seeing how much fun they can have in these junkets.
They’re not out to push the envelope, they just want to have a hell of a good time. And same goes for the show. As expected, this new season is full of outlandish adventures for the colorful trio and their grotesque neighbor, and when the humor is on point, it’s some of the best out there. Enjoy their take on A Quiet Place, hair metal ballads, and all-around snappy exchanges between Fryock, Meatwad and Master Shake. But enjoy our interview first. That’s what Dave and Matt would want…because they told me…honest.
Coming off last year’s original film “Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm,” the new season marks the return of stars Carey Means (“The Brak Show”) as Frylock, Dana Snyder (“Squidbillies”) as Master Shake, and co-creator Willis as Meatwad and Carl.
“Aqua Teen Hunger Force” Season 12 is written, produced, and directed by Maiellaro and Willis.
Frylock, Shake, Meatwad, and Carl are back and ready to take on absolutely nothing. The new season of Aqua Teen Hunger Force premieres with two episodes on November 26 at 11:30p on Adult Swim, next day on Max.
