Interview…Rusanda Panfili on Serenity, Sincerity and Simply Stunning Strings

Many times, we can be in awe of artists. Why? Because they can do something that, for lack of a better word, seems like alchemy. Sure, their skill and prowess comes from dedication, focus, and decades of practice. Now whether that individual works with stone, strings or a symphony, just being present when they are “on the job” can be a life-changing experience. Let’s go back in time to September of last year when we were star-struck watching Hans Zimmer and crew (aptly named “The Disruptive Collective”) command the stage and leave thousands of film score fans in literal awe.

While the music started in his mind, it was made real thanks to the dizzying number of world-class musicians taking the stage with Mr. Zimmer. Over the years, we’ve been lucky enough to speak to a few of them. Today’s guest is another of those sonic titans. And as we’re close to Halloween, the only way to describe what Rusanda Panfili does with her talent is this: she casts a spell on eardrums across the globe. Her classical background and technical proficiency lets her project power, poise and precision time and again. The confidence she has is as magnetic as her passion which, were it a cup, overfloweth!

Take for instance this music from Thibaut Vuillermet which is made immortal thanks to her sharp physical mechanics. Few sounds are life-changing, but just take six minutes to enjoy the escape into this masterpiece…and then take another day and a half to recover from the multitude of emotions it makes you feel. Funny how just 4 strings can do that, but that’s the magic of Panfili on violin. It might seem like her strings are about to catch on fire, but that’s ok…she likes to get a little dangerous.

But to know how this beautiful soul with a beautiful bow can work her string magic, we have to go back to the beginning. And a tale as old as time is that every exceptional and otherworldly musician you hear these days got their start at an early, early age. In this case, it was the eight month mark, and already the universe was calling. Joining a conservatory at the age of eleven, Rusanda’s career has been nothing but rocket fuel and luxurious gowns. It has taken her from small-scale venues to colossal music halls, even the imaginary realm of Andara. So, please enjoy this episode of The GoSeeTalk Podcast Experience!

You can find out more about Rusanda at her official website and follow her on Instagram. She has two albums in the works and a series of live shows coming up (click here for dates/locations), so there’s a lot of great music and gowns to look forward to!
