Over the years, Dreamworks Animation has been pretty hot on the heels of Pixar and dare I say even going toe to toe with their last couple of films. How to Train Your Dragon was a huge hit and they have just been putting out higher and higher quality pictures. I think it’s safe to say they have found their groove. Personally I adore 2008’s Kung Fu Panda and am eager to see what Dreamworks can do to expand the story.
So what will Kung Fu Panda 2 have in store for us? From the looks of the images below, quite a lot! From ScreenRant, here are the first images of the new faces in Dreamworks Animations’ sequel Kung Fu Panda 2.
(From L to R: The Soothsayer, Master Thundering Rhino, Master Storming Ox, Master Croc, Lord Shen, and Wolf Boss)
All the original cast is back for the sequel but head on over to ScreenRant for detailed info on the new characters and read their back stories. Some are quite interesting and will really help flesh out the story. I may not be on board for all Jack Black’s movies but so far his work in animated films have been hits in my eyes (yes all 3 of them:P). Can’t wait for this!!
Kung Fu Panda 2 is set for release on May 27th. What do you think? You ready to see Po and The Furious Five take on the the Ka-Boom of Doom??

I absolutely loved Kung Fu Panda, that rare sort of movie that promises something in its title and completely delivers on it in every way, so suffice to say that I’m looking forward to this one. And those characters look really, really great, just adding to the excitement.
The backlash here is that movies like this make me question why Dreamworks can’t just get it together and churn out quality fare all the time.

Missed the sequel this weekend but am excited to see what Oldman does with Lord Shen. Although reviews haven’t been very flattering:(
