This is a bit of a mixed bag but how could we resist putting all these promo posters of expectedly kick-ass films together in one post?
Here we have Taken 2, The Expendables 2, some lower budget Sean Bean actioner Soldiers of Fortune, Savages, The Watch and finally, Django Unchanied. Also, there’s a bit of a surprise at the bottom for you fans of the drive-in movie era posters. It’s fan made and been around a while but still has a kind cool look to it. Enjoy!!
Taken 2 stars Liam Neeson and will hit theaters this Fall on October 5th 2012.
Stallone, Li, Statham and the rest of the World’s Most Macho Heroes team up for The Expendables 2 which will bring more incendiary excitement to multiplexes nation wide this Summer on August 17th, 2012. Check out the trailer here.
Soldiers of Fortune doesn’t look like much, especially compared to The Expendables, but for those of you on the fence, check out the trailer here.
Savages is Oliver Stone‘s adaptation of the novel of the same name. It stars Arron Johnson (Kick-Ass), Taylor Kitsch (John Carter) and Blake Lively and is set for release on July 6th, 2012. Check out the trailer here.
The Watch stars, well, all the guys you see on the poster above, as suburban dads who form a neighborhood watch group as a way to get out of their day-to-day family routines find themselves defending the Earth from an alien invasion. Check out the trailer here.
Yes, this is fan made (and very out of date since Levitt and Russell had to drop out of the film) but it’s worth a look. Django Unchained will however still be released on Christmas Day. Buuuut for those of you left wanting, here’s the actual poster for Django (remember the “D” is silent) Unchained. Check out the trailer here.
So there you have it, just a little visual cinematic buffet to kick start your Monday. What are you most looking forward to this year??

I only like the Taken 2 poster for the tagline, since it confirms that the film won’t be going super-silly and putting Maggie Grace in a kidnapping situation again. Three time’s the charm where dad just gives up and walks away. But no, they’re coming after Mills, which is encouraging.
Soldiers of Fortune spoiler: Sean Bean dies. It’s more of a prediction than a spoiler, since I have no idea if that’s true or not. But the dude dies in everything. He’s the Kenny of live-action cinema.
I don’t have anything to offer about the Expendables 2 poster. It’s fairly boilerplate. And I really do not want Chuck Norris jokes to come back into vogue again. At all. Django Unchained, though…both posters look terrific and the trailer itself is really encouraging. So, awesome!

Andrew, posters are such a cookie cutter industry and it really takes some out of the box and bold thinking to deliver something worth remembering…oh and your Sean Bean comment killed me. Thanks for the laugh:)
