Teaser Footage From Steven Spielberg's 'Lincoln'
Word on the street is that the first full trailer for Lincoln will hit the Web this Thursday. Until now we’ve only seen a poster and 2 shots of Daniel Day-Lewis as the titular POTUS (that’s President of the United States by the way) to show us what Spielberg has in store for us this Fall. To get us ready, we get this teaser (the first of three which drop today, Tuesday and Wednesday respectively) which quickly reveals DDL as Abe Lincoln. Cianfrance's TIFF Hit 'The Place Beyond the Pines' Picked Up For 2013 Release
Hot off the outstanding reviews from the TIFF in Tornoto Canada comes this news about U.S. rights to Derek Cianfrance’s The Place Beyond the Pines. Starring Academy Award nominee Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper, and Eva Mendes, the film has just been acquired by Focus Features for a 2013 release. 2012 Fantastic Fest Update – RED DAWN World Premiere/Closing Night Film
Well here’s how a festival takes the fun of a film and stretches it into something fans can appreciate. News from FF HQ is that The Wolverines are infiltrating Fantastic Fest to defend all that is good and American! The world premiere of FilmDistrict’s Red Dawn will close Fantastic Fest, on Thursday, September 27, with stars Josh Peck and Adrianne Palicki in attendance. A Korean-invasion-themed party will follow the premiere screening to celebrate the closing night of the festival. Sweet Trailer…Barry Levinson's 'The Bay'
Academy Award-Winning director Barry Levinson has some solid hits on his hands and while this may be new territory for him this looks like another solid win. More like a mash up of a handful of genres than a straight-forward fright fest, The Bay plays with found footage/viral horror, zombie-like ghouls, paranoia and more as well as setting the hysteria against a holiday not unlike Jaws. But like a buffet there’s enough going on to please most viewers.
