Every Easter I watch Ben-Hur religiously (no pun intended). Most of the people I tell this to, they don’t know that it deals with Christ and Easter as well as being one of Charleston Heston’s greatest roles. The events that befall Judah run in tandem to the life and final days of Jesus Christ. After all, the title Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ kind of says it all.

Once again we follow Jesse Eisenberg through some more inescapable socially awkward situations and hijinx. This time though, Mr Fleicher is having Jesse trade Zombies and twinkies for a bomb and a bank robbery…trust me, it’ll make more sense when you watch it. Have a look! Sweet Trailer…'Troll Hunter'
Now here’s an interesting take on the mockumentary sub genre. The Troll Hunter tells the story of a group of students investigating mysterious bear killings. They quickly learn there are much more dangerous things going on. As they start to follow a mysterious man, they soon learn he is actually an expert troll hunter. There have been some trailers released previously and this does give away more than it probably should but it’s still an exciting watch. The Troll Hunter, was written and directed Norwegian filmmaker André Øvredal and those who saw it premiered at Fantastic Fest last year have been raving about it. Well this came out of the middle of nowhere but I have to say it’s just the thing to remedy this cloudy Dallas day. A French thriller in the vein of Luc Besson (I guess they usually go hand in hand don’t they?:P) Point Blank is about Samuel (a male nurse) who saves the life of a man (a thief) at his hospital. But soon the thief’s henchmen take Samuel’s pregnant wife hostage to force him to spring their boss from the hospital. What do you get when you mix a small ambitious idea for a sci-fi film with a budget that nearly allows its aspirations to play out? The slick and impressive film Hunter Prey that’s what. Unexpected simplicity combined with high quality visuals yields a product just short of magnificence (yeah this looks stunning in HD) that ranks high in wachability and replay value. Sandy Collora’s independent film just dazzles and delights and is so slick and imaginative you won’t be surprised if you find yourself asking, “who is this guy Collora and why hasn’t he been picked up yet??”
