Random Film Thought of the Day…03.29.10

This is an interesting way to start off the work week. It was just about 1 month ago when the 82nd Academy Awards came to a close and we began our Monday blogging and gossiping about what went on the night before. One of the best parts of the evening, although it was a surprise to no one, was Christoph Waltz talking the Oscar for Best Supporting Role. One of the very few awards that the QT masterpiece (yes, masterpiece) received all night.

Anyway as luck would have it, I was on the way to work this morning and I took a different way to get here. Sometimes traffic can be a blessing. Doing so yielded me two treats…only one of which you movie fans will find interesting in the least. As I took my newfound detour to avoid major traffic this fine March morning, I happened upon this interestingly named street. See Pic below…

For those of you even paying the slightest attention, it is the last name of Christoph Waltz’s character in above mentioned snubbed Oscar worthy film. While this little Monday perk in no way compares to the honor Mr. Waltz received a month ago or to appease my anger in the film’s utter Oscar-voided night, this really just made me smile. OK I am a huge movie dork for noticing this…”I like… I like me. My wife likes me. My customers like me. ‘Cause I’m the real article. What you see is what you get.“…Now if you can tell me 1. What movie that line was from and 2. What is has in relation to Inglurious Basterds you deserve to wear the crown of “Movie King” and I will bow down to your might.

Lastly, the other treat I found today by avoiding traffic was that there’s a Braum’s close to my office. Neat! In the future,I fully I plan to utilize that location for one of my “running late to work/on the go” breakfasts. Simple pleasures for reluctant mondays…Check!

Great find there, Marc! Now you have to reveal where that quote come from… my guess is that it’s from QT’s flicks? I’m definitely not worthy of the crown of ‘movie king’ or queen I guess 🙁

Thanks Ruth, yeah kinda funny thing how movies can cause your brain to see things differently:P

Here’s a hint: it’s a John Hughes movie but not one of the first ones that comes to mind when someone says John Hughes. Lastly, trust me, I’m not a “movie king” either but if there is a crown, I’m trying everyday to even get close to it, let alone wear it:)
