From the mind of James Wan (Saw) comes what just might be the new standard in horror. Well let’s not get ahead of ourselves but this looks pretty awesome. Plus, if Alex at First Showing thinks it’s great, then it must be the real deal. Check out the trailer below…

I like how it takes all the predictable elements we’ve come to expect from horror films but combines them just enough to keep it interesting. Looks like it’s not a straight up possession film or one about a haunted house, but a mix up of both…and then some. It’s hard for a horror film to avoid the banal trappings of the genre and make something original. Insidious though looks like it has a chance at beating the odds…and I’m game for that.
Starring Patrick Wilson (The Watchmen) and Rose Byrne (Get Him to the Greek), Insidious is set to terrorize theaters on April 1, 2011. What do you think?? Anyone ready for some scare this Spring??

I can’t wait to see this. I’m so often let down by horror flicks especially those about possession (The Last Exorcism). Hope this one lives up to the trailer.

Hey Jessica, welcome back to G-S-T. Sorry you got had on Last Exorcism. I skipped it because I too was let down after seeing The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Man, I was sooo bummed when it turned out to be nothing but a courtroom drama:P
I think that due to James Wan’s track record this should impress a lot of people…skeptics mostly. Fingers crossed right?
