On Sunday Yahoo has released the first two official posters for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and now we get a full on trailer! This sequel features the return of Robert Downey Jr. as the titular deducing detective and Jude Law as John Watson who really were superb in their respective roles (despite Downey’s spotty accent). But new to this series are the additions of Jared Harris as Professor Moriaty and Noomi Rapace as Sim. Well, enough about that, let’s get to the trailer…
Guy Ritchie (Snatch, Rocknrolla) is back directing the sequel to the 2009 hit about quick witted super sleuth Sherlock Holmes. For those of you who haven’t seen them, we;ve posted some screenshots after the jump. This follow up entitled A Game of Shadows was written by Kieran & Michele Mulroney who wrote and directed the Ryan Reynolds/Jeff Daniels indie flick Paper Man. Warner Brothers has slated Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows to hit theaters this Fall (right before Christmas) on December 16th, 2011.
Like the first film it should make for a great holiday outing to catch on (well before really) Christams Day. Although I’m most pleased to see that Hans Zimmer has returned to score the sequel.
