Remakes and sequels are all around us. Such is life. This week we saw the trailer for the 3rd remake of Ben-Hur (which doesn’t look one bit appealing), but Edgar Rice Burroughs‘ “Tarzan” is another property that gets a fresh coat of paint every couple decades. While this already looks like it’ll be better than Peter Jackson’s King Kong – another in a long line of remakes/retreads – we think it’s because the practical bits (thank you Mad Mad: Fury Road) and the digital ones (thank you Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) will blend very well in this seemingly compelling story. Enjoy the trailer for The Legend of Tarzan.
Tarzan, having acclimated to life in London, is called back to his former home in the jungle to investigate the activities at a mining encampment.
A Jerry Weintraub production, the film Margot Robbie, Alexander Skarsgård, Samuel L. Jackson, John Hurt, Djimon Hounsou, and Christoph Waltz. From Warner Bros. Pictures, expect The Legend of Tarzan to swing into theaters on July 1, 2016.
