Sweet Trailers…Best and Brightest of 2023

2022 is officially in the history books, and what’s on the horizon for 2023 looks nothing short of legendary. That is not hyperbole. The slate of films set for release this year seem like the universe aligned to keep film fans smiling for a full calendar year. Two very big months look to be March and June and there will be some heavy competition for your dollars on the silver screen.

It’s no surprise that a lot of tent pole films will be sequels or superhero titles (or both) but there’s also some highly anticipated features coming from mega-star directors. To us, this is a pretty eyebrow-raising list but no means is this comprehensive – there are a bunch of films in post production so there are no trailers at the time of this posting (for instance, we’re really excited to see Killers of the Flower Moon).

So if you haven’t done a deep dive for yourself, allow us to highlight nearly a dozen titles that we think will change cinema and make this year one people will talk about for decades. We look forward to being surprised, entertained and delighted.

The story of American scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer and his role in the development of the atomic bomb.

Still reeling from the loss of Gamora, Peter Quill rallies his team to defend the universe and one of their own – a mission that could mean the end of the Guardians if not successful.

While vacationing at a remote cabin, a young girl and her parents are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand that the family make an unthinkable choice to avert the apocalypse. With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe before all is lost.

Inspired by the 1985 true story of a drug runner’s plane crash, missing cocaine, and the black bear that ate it, this wild dark comedy finds an oddball group of cops, criminals, tourists and teens converging in a Georgia forest where a 500- pound apex predator has ingested a staggering amount of cocaine and gone on a coke-fueled rampage for more blow … and blood.

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, an epic adventure that will transport Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man across the Multiverse to join forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-People to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever encountered.

The story of The Super Mario Bros. on their journey through the Mushroom Kingdom.

An astronaut crash lands on a mysterious planet only to discover he’s not alone.

Barbie lives in Barbie Land and then a story happens.

Adonis has been thriving in both his career and family life, but when a childhood friend and former boxing prodigy resurfaces, the face-off is more than just a fight.

Harrison Ford returns as the legendary hero archaeologist in the highly anticipated fifth installment of the iconic “Indiana Jones” franchise, which is directed by James Mangold.

There’s plenty more great titles coming down the pike, but what are you most excited to see??
