Last December we got to see just what Jon M. Chu has in store for us in his follow-up to 2009’s G.I. Joe The Rise of Cobra. That first trailer looked pretty slick and probably had even the most avid naysayer going Yo Joe!. Now we get a simply awesome second trailer that looks even better. As one of the few people who really dug the ridiculousness of Stephen Sommers’ Rise of Cobra, I have to tell you that this gives me chills. Not only are they expanding on the very clever storyline from the first film but now they’re bringing in the big guns to make this look oh so…

G-S-T Review…21 Jump Street
Phil Lord’s and Chris Miller’s 21 Jump Street shouldn’t be as brilliant as it is. In fact, on paper, it’s a film that seems ripe for evisceration at the hands of critics and cineastes for whom kvetching about Hollywood’s modern culture of property recycling has become as much a pastime as actually watching movies. Maybe 21 Jump Street is an easy target; its premise is so hopelessly cheesy that it could only be a product of the late 80s, while Jonah Hill’s comedic stock has been wavering since 2010’s Get Him to the Greek. Tack Channing Tatum on and you have a project that reads like a fake film-within-a-film from Entourage. Who gave a…

Sweet (Extended Red Band) Trailer…'21 Jump Street'
Next week we’ll see the big screen adaptation of 21 Jump Street. Sorry Johnny Depp fans, save for the name, it shares next to nothing in common with the 80’s TV show. We’ve seen a slew of trailers and TV spots but this extended Red Band trailer (thanks MTV) just might put them all to shame. There’s also some new footage that is really funny albeit NSFW. Doesn’t tread a lot of new ground as far as buddy cop/odd couple films go but it looks insane and personally, against my better judgement, I can’t wait. For those interested have a look… Get More: Movie Trailers, Movies Blog Directed by Phil Lord and…

G-S-T Review…The Vow
What would you do if the person you love couldn’t remember you? How how hard would you try to get them and their memories back? Sounds kind of like science-fiction right? Well it’s not, The Vow is based on real events and it’s actually a pretty inspiring little story. Moreover one that should not be written off at first glance. True the timing of this release can be considered Valentine’s Day fluff, but look past where the film lands on the calendar this year and you’ll find a story that is stripped of pretentious candy coating and an example of what true love is really all about.

Sweet Trailer…'G.I. JOE: Retaliation'
From director Jon M. Chu comes this somewhat related sequel to Stephen Sommers’ G.I. JOE: The Rise of Cobra. Picking up with the brilliant plot-line that (spoiler!!) covertly put Cobra in the White House, Zartan in now acting as The President of the United States. Under his orders, the G.I. Joes have been hunted down and eliminated…or so we think. The few who survived the massacre are now going head-to-head with the Zartan, and the world leaders he has under his influence, to clear their names. Yo Joe! Tell me that wasn’t the least bit awesome! I seriously geeked out at the Cobra banners on The White House. Doesn’t that just seem like something right out of the cartoon? It…
