Here we are with the second installment in the trilogy, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. This trilogy (well, three novels stretched out to four films) is the latest in the teen craze following on the heels of Harry Potter and Twilight and now The Hunger Games is taking its turn in the spotlight. Even with all of the success that the first movie saw, the studio was still not happy. New writers and a new director took the helm for this installment, but does that put the odds in the production’s favor and help take the series to the next level? In short, yes, in fact, with three fingers thrust…

Sweet 2nd Trailer…The Expendables 2
While we were sorely let down by Sly’s original opus The Expendables the entertainment and America is all about underdogs and second chances right? Case in point. Going for a bigger and badder but still deliciously 80’s era outing, Sly gets the band of bad-asses back together for Lionsgate’s The Expendables 2. This time Sly has given the helm to Simon West (Con Air, The Mechanic) to spend more time in front of the camera which, we hope, this time is a good thing. Anyway, lock and load, The Expendables 2 is going in hot… Sly (as Barney Ross) is again joined by Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Randy…

Sweet TV Spot…'The Hunger Games'
This awesome 60 second TV spot for The Hunger Games has debuted and man does it get the job done. I’m oddly more excited for this than The Avengers. Wow, talk about a way to end the week…until Prometheus hits tomorrow that is. Anyway, this trailer gives us the most footage of that lavishly cold world we’ve seen yet. No more words…just watch (fyi, headphones are highly encouraged). So far The Hunger Games is getting GREAT word of mouth buzz and the early reviews are sporting pretty high praise. I’ll be checking out a screening on Monday so I’m super stoked for that. The embargo lifts on Tuesday the 20th…

Sweet (2nd) Trailer…'The Hunger Games'
Today we’re treated to the second trailer for the adaptation of Suzanne Collins‘ best selling novel (the first in a series of 4 planned films from her 3 books). While the teaser didn’t do much but confuse, the first official trailer was infinitely more satisfying. From Yahoo, we have a shorter but deeper look into this bizarrely exquisite futuristic tale in which “a nationally televised event in which ‘Tributes’ must fight with one another until one survivor remains“. Kind of looks like a mix of The Running Man, Logan’s Run and Harry Potter for the young adult set…but maybe that’s just me since I’ve never read the books. Anyway, have a look. The Hunger Games stars Jennifer…
